BRUSSELS, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Clean hydrogen is no longer a future bet – it is being built now. According to the Hydrogen Council’s Global Hydrogen Compass 2026, released today, committed investment has surpassed USD 130 billion, corresponding to 6.9 Mtpa of committed capacity across more than 570 projects worldwide, 90% of which are under construction or already operational. 

The new report, co-authored with McKinsey & Company and informed by the perspectives of some 70 global CEOs, highlights continued industry progress alongside a changing strategic context. Over the past year, global operational capacity has nearly doubled and is expected to double again next year as projects under construction come online. 

At the same time, shifting geopolitical priorities are strengthening hydrogen’s role as a strategic resilience lever. As governments seek to strengthen energy security, build more resilient economies and support long-term industrial growth, hydrogen is receiving renewed attention for its ability to help address multiple strategic priorities alongside deep decarbonization, complementing growing electrification and use of renewable energy sources. 

Geographically, China remains the largest market, accounting for more than half of global committed renewable hydrogen capacity, as well as 90% of new operational capacity globally added since 2025. Europe now follows as the second-largest market, leading in project count and relative investment growth (+35% since 2025). The United States continues to lead in low-carbon hydrogen deployment, accounting for approximately 75% of global committed low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia capacity. 

The experience of these leading markets also points to the industry’s next challenge: projects move forward where policy and infrastructure are the most robust. Of the 11 Mpta of potential 2030 clean hydrogen demand that existing policies could unlock by 2030, around 6 Mtpa is firmed today by policies that have been enacted and enforced.  Unlocking the remaining 5 Mpta now requires urgent action from governments to deliver on existing policy commitments.   

For policymakers, the top priority is to implement enabling incentives and mandates, as well as robust carbon pricing instruments providing demand signals. For industry, the focus is to serve that demand cost effectively, which requires strong push to reduce cost and build the necessary infrastructure. 

Combining comprehensive industry data with CEO perspectives and lessons learned from some of the world’s most significant clean hydrogen projects, Global Hydrogen Compass 2026 provides a fact-based assessment of the industry’s progress and the practical actions needed to accelerate deployment. VERSILIA – Le squadre di soccorso dei vigili del fuoco, affiancate dagli agenti della polizia municipale e dai volontari della protezione civile, hanno lavorato per tutto il pomeriggio in Versilia per far fronte alle conseguenze della violenta tromba d’aria che si è scagliata sulla costa intorno alle 14 di oggi (9 settembre).

Il grande volume di chiamate pervenute al centralino ha richiesto l’impiego immediato dei contingenti di Viareggio, Pietrasanta e Lucca, supportati dall’arrivo delle colonne mobili da Livorno, Arezzo e Pisa dotate di mezzi speciali e autoscale. Il bilancio dei danni a Viareggio descrive una situazione complessa: si registrano lo sradicamento di un grosso pino di via Sant’Andrea, il cedimento di un grosso ramo davanti alla sede del Comune, il crollo di un’alberatura alla Stazione Vecchia e la caduta di una pianta in Darsena. Danni significativi anche al patrimonio pubblico, con il distacco parziale della copertura al Teatro Eden e lo scoperchiamento di una porzione della palestra delle scuole Jenco, mentre al Beach Stadium la furia delle raffiche ha squarciato i tendoni pur senza compromettere la stabilità dell’impianto.

MORIARTY, N.M., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sceye, a U.S. aerospace and material science company building High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS) for stratospheric infrastructure, today announced the successful return of its Service Test 1 (ST1) mission to the United States after a record-breaking trans-Pacific flight from New Mexico to Japan and back. ST1 launched on August 9, 2026, and arrived in Japan 13 days later. While operating in Japan, Sceye demonstrated mobile broadband connectivity to unmodified devices through SoftBank Corp.’s core network and HAPS-based edge computing and communication with drones to support the development of a 3D communications network. 

During its journey, Sceye’s ST1 traveled nearly 30,000 km and re-entered continental U.S. on September 4, 2026. ST1 reached airspace near Sceye’s headquarters in Moriarty, New Mexico on September 5, 2026, where Sceye completed additional vehicle testing and a planned termination and descent.

The stratosphere offers the optimal vantage point: It is close enough to Earth for high-capacity connectivity and observation, yet the altitude is high enough for wide-area reach. Importantly, the stratosphere offers space-like conditions without the cost of being in space and the disadvantages of being in orbit. Sceye’s HAPS maintain altitude and their area of operation in the stratosphere through consecutive day and night cycles, operating like geostationary satellites, only 1,800 times closer to Earth and at a fraction of the cost.

L’incontro ha riunito registi e direttori della fotografia emergenti per esplorare una domanda a cui il settore ha appena iniziato a rispondere: quando una cinepresa entra nel palmo della mano, in che modo cambia la Lingua stessa del cinema? 

Da Cannes a Venezia: Una visione unificata 

La sessione del Venice Production Bridge ha proseguito il percorso creativo iniziato quest’anno da Osmo Pocket Series. Dopo la presentazione globale a Cannes a maggio, DJI ha affidato Osmo Pocket 4P a due tra le voci visive più distintive del cinema, ognuna al lavoro in modo indipendente su continenti diversi. I risultati hanno rivelato una notevole convergenza. 

In “FAMILIARITÉ”, l’attrice Isabelle Huppert, premiata a Cannes e Venezia, è protagonista e regista creativa di un’originale meditazione sulla letteratura e la memoria, girata interamente con Osmo Pocket 4P. Allo stesso tempo, l’acclamato direttore della fotografia giapponese Mikiya Takimoto ha ideato e diretto “Looking for Her”, un racconto in stile road movie ambientato in una storica città mineraria d’argento che segue una silenziosa ricerca di connessioni umane, girato anch’esso interamente con Osmo Pocket 4P. Proiettare il futuro: Dalla teoria alla pratica 

La sessione è strutturata come un autentico dialogo nel settore, basato interamente sulla pratica cinematografica piuttosto che sulla dimostrazione del prodotto. Quattro cortometraggi realizzati da un gruppo internazionale di direttori della fotografia emergenti sono stati proiettati: Gabriele Mencaroni e Alessandro Tempestini (Italia), Liu Yadi (Cina/Francia) e Zhou Chengzhou (Cina/Paesi Bassi). Il loro lavoro collettivo spaziava dal cinema sperimentale alla produzione commerciale fino ai documentari riconosciuti nei festival, una diversità che riflette una generazione che opera oltre i tradizionali confini creativi. 

Dopo la proiezione e una dimostrazione di riprese dal vivo, tre direttori della fotografia di fama internazionale hanno fornito un rigoroso feedback professionale: Valentin Vignet, direttore della fotografia francese noto per il suo lavoro su Faces Places e sul cortometraggio candidato all’Oscar Nefta Football Club; Cristiano Di Nicola, direttore della fotografia italiano pluripremiato presente a Venezia con “L’Estranea” in Concorso Ufficiale; e Michele D’Attanasio, due volte vincitore del David di Donatello, noto per film come Veloce come il vento, Freaks Out e L’ombra di Caravaggio. Tutti e tre, forti di esperienza nella gestione di produzioni su larga scala, hanno valutato il racconto visivo dei giovani registi in base agli standard inflessibili del cinema professionale, dimostrando che la sofisticazione tecnica del lavoro era all’altezza – e non a discapito – dei parametri tradizionali della cinematografia. 

La tavola rotonda: Discussione sul settore sulla ridefinizione del cinema 

Il fulcro è stata una tavola rotonda: “In che modo una nuova generazione sta ridefinendo il cinema?” La conversazione ha intrecciato le prospettive distintive di direttori della fotografia affermati e registi emergenti, esplorando in modo naturale quattro fondamentali dimensioni: come gli strumenti compatti e stabilizzati su gimbal ridefiniscono il rapporto tra la camera, l’interprete e l’ambiente; se apparecchiature più leggere e flessibili democratizzino la produzione cinematografica professionale pur richiedendo una maggiore disciplina visiva; come i flussi di lavoro di produzione e le dinamiche sul set si trasformino con configurazioni leggere; e, in definitiva, se uno strumento possa davvero cambiare il linguaggio cinematografico stesso o se l’idea visiva debba sempre venire prima. 

Valentin Vignet ha riflettuto sul cambiamento psicologico quando l’imponente attrezzatura della macchina da presa scompare dal set: l’attore non deve più adattarsi all’apparecchiatura e la videocamera diventa un testimone piuttosto che un ostacolo. “La cosa che mi ha colpito di più di questi quattro cortometraggi è che nessuno dei registi ha dovuto scendere a compromessi sulla qualità per utilizzare una videocamera più leggera”, ha dichiarato Cristiano Di Nicola. “Ci sono state così tante inquadrature che prima non avrei mai pensato fossero possibili, e questo perché l’Osmo Pocket 4P ti libera come cineasta. Un direttore della fotografia che lavora da solo in uno spazio ristretto può adottare la stessa raffinatezza tecnica di una troupe hollywoodiana. La barriera d’ingresso si è abbassata non sacrificando la qualità, ma ridistribuendo i contesti in cui quella qualità può risiedere.

SHENYANG, China, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The 4th “Hello, Shenyang” Football Friendship Match for international residents kicked off September 5 at Shenyang University, bringing together international residents for a day of sport and cultural exchange. 

Themed “Green Pitch Bridges Mountains and Seas, United Hearts Gather the World,” the event was hosted by the Shenyang Municipal People’s Government and co-organized by the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, the Municipal Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Municipal Sports Bureau, and Shenyang University, with China Today Shenyang Salon as the collaborating unit. Consular officials and international residents from business, academia and other sectors attended the opening ceremony, where Vice Mayor Zhao Wei delivered remarks. 

Four teams took to the field: an elite squad from BMW, international student teams from Shenyang University and Shenyang Medical College, and the youngest competitors from Shenyang Huimin Senior High School. The matches featured skillful play, fierce competition and strong teamwork, while high-fives and embraces conveyed genuine friendship among players. 

The event also showcased traditional Chinese cultural performances – Wing Chun demonstrations and qipao fashion shows – offering guests an immersive experience of Chinese heritage. Fun activities such as the Ultimate Football and Unity Challenge team-building exercises added laughter and strengthened bonds among participants. 

Launched in 2023, the annual match serves as a football-based friendship platform for international residents in Shenyang. Over three years, players of diverse nationalities, ages and professions have gathered through their shared passion, experiencing the city’s hospitality and China’s openness through sport. Football bridges language and cultural gaps, bringing friends from around the world together and embodying the spirit of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.

AHMEDABAD, India, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) and one of India’s largest private airport operators, has entered into binding agreements to raise ₹9,825 crore (~USD 1 billion) of primary equity capital from a consortium of investors comprising Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and BlackRock managed funds. The transaction values AAHL at a pre-money equity valuation of ~USD 18 billion and represents one of the largest primary equity investments from financial institutions in India’s airport infrastructure sector. 

The participation of a consortium of long-term domestic and global investors represents a significant institutional endorsement of AAHL’s scale, operating capabilities and long-term growth potential. The investment brings long-duration institutional capital into the business at a time when India’s aviation sector is entering a sustained phase of passenger growth, capacity expansion and infrastructure investment. 

AAHL and the investors have entered into a Share Subscription Agreement and a Shareholders’ Agreement pursuant to which the investors will subscribe to new equity shares of AAHL in three tranches, with the final tranche expected to be completed by July 2027. Upon completion of all three tranches, the investors will collectively hold approximately 5.54% in AAHL. 

The proceeds will support three strategic priorities: expanding and modernising airport infrastructure across AAHL’s portfolio; accelerating the development of integrated Adani Airport City ecosystems around its airports with development of ~ 22 million sq. ft. of mixed-use development planned in the first phase; and scaling passenger-facing and other non-aeronautical businesses including our ground handling business. These investments are expected to increase capacity to serve ~ 200 million passengers annually, deepen commercial monetisation, enhance passenger experience and further strengthen AAHL’s integrated airport ecosystem. 

The transaction follows AEL’s successful ₹15,000 crore qualified institutional placement (QIP) in July 2026, India’s largest QIP by a non-financial corporate. Together, the transactions reflect continued access by the Adani portfolio to significant pools of long-term domestic and global institutional capital.

A conquistare il titolo di Vincitrice Assoluta 2026 è Elizaveta Rîmscaia, Moldavia (della caffetteria Odélle di Chișinău), protagonista della Gran Finale della Julius Meinl Barista Cup 2026, che il 4 settembre ha riunito al MuseumsQuartier di Vienna 15 campioni nazionali provenienti da tutto il mondo. 

L’appuntamento di Vienna ha rappresentato il momento conclusivo di un percorso che ha coinvolto 15 Paesi e raccolto oltre 350 candidature, fino alla selezione dei 15 campioni nazionali chiamati a rappresentare il proprio Paese alla Gran Finale. Tutti i finalisti si sono confrontati nelle tre categorie della competizione: Espresso, Cappuccino e Signature Drink.
