Mercoledì, durante l’incontro con il presidente egiziano Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, il presidente cinese Xi Jinping ha affermato che i due Paesi dovrebbero rafforzare la cooperazione e continuare a promuovere la creazione di una comunità con interessi condivisi tra Cina ed Egitto. 

Un nuovo motore per lo sviluppo locale
 

La zona di Suez si è progressivamente spostata dalla produzione manifatturiera tradizionale, con progetti nel settore dell’energia solare e un’economia circolare in fase di sviluppo che puntano verso una crescita più sostenibile e a basse emissioni di carbonio. L’espansione in nuovi settori ha inoltre apportato benefici più diretti all’economia e alla forza lavoro egiziane. 

I progetti finanziati dalla Cina hanno contribuito a rafforzare l’approvvigionamento energetico dell’Egitto: un progetto relativo a una sottostazione di un parco solare ha fornito circa 16.000 gigawattora di elettricità dal momento del suo completamento, mentre le aziende cinesi hanno formato ingegneri e lavoratori locali, consentendo a dipendenti egiziani di ricoprire ruoli tecnici e dirigenziali. In una joint venture tra China XD Electric e la società egiziana EGEMAC, i dipendenti locali rappresentano il 97% della forza lavoro. 

Tale cooperazione rientra nell’ottica di uno sviluppo più ampio e reciprocamente vantaggioso. Come riportato in un articolo firmato pubblicato dai media egiziani in vista della visita del presidente cinese, Xi ha affermato che Cina ed Egitto dovrebbero “perseguire una cooperazione reciprocamente vantaggiosa per entrambe le parti e stabilire un punto di riferimento per lo sviluppo congiunto”. 

I prodotti egiziani trovano terreno nel mercato crescente cinese
 

Il rapporto sta assumendo sempre più un carattere bidirezionale, con un sempre maggiore afflusso di prodotti egiziani nel vasto mercato di consumo cinese. 

Secondo i dati ufficiali cinesi, il volume degli scambi commerciali tra la Cina e l’Egitto ha raggiunto i 95,19 miliardi di yuan (14,16 miliardi di dollari) nei primi sette mesi del 2026, con un aumento del 18,7% rispetto allo stesso periodo dell’anno precedente. Le esportazioni cinesi verso l’Egitto sono aumentate del 17,5%, mentre le importazioni dall’Egitto hanno registrato un’impennata del 49,4%. 

Il commercio agricolo costituisce un settore in particolare crescita. Le importazioni cinesi di prodotti agricoli egiziani sono aumentate dell’82,6% nei primi sette mesi, rappresentando il 41,7% delle importazioni totali della Cina dall’Egitto. L’Egitto era il principale fornitore di fragole surgelate della Cina e il terzo fornitore di lino, che rappresentavano rispettivamente il 96,7% e il 7,7% delle importazioni cinesi. 

Inoltre, è uno dei principali esportatori mondiali di arance: nel 2025 ha esportato in Cina arance fresche, generando circa 26 milioni di dollari. Un esportatore di prodotti agricoli, che è solito recarsi in Cina diverse volte all’anno, ha affermato che la forte domanda di arance egiziane da parte dei consumatori cinesi ha spinto i produttori a migliorarne la qualità. 

In un articolo, il quotidiano egiziano Al-Ahram ha affermato che le misure di azzeramento dei dazi doganali adottate dalla Cina per i prodotti africani hanno favorito l’accesso a un mercato di oltre 1,4 miliardi di persone, sottolineando tuttavia che la sola riduzione dei dazi non ne garantirebbe il successo. Secondo il quotidiano, la qualità dei prodotti, la stabilità delle forniture e il marketing localizzato continuerebbero a rivestire un ruolo importante per le aziende egiziane che intendono espandersi in Cina. 

Oltre i rapporti bilaterali
 

L’importanza di questo rapporto va oltre il commercio e gli investimenti, in un momento in cui Cina ed Egitto celebrano 70 anni di relazioni diplomatiche. L’Egitto è stato il primo Paese arabo e africano a stabilire relazioni diplomatiche con la Repubblica Popolare Cinese e, da allora, i due Paesi hanno ampliato la loro cooperazione nel campo della cultura, dell’istruzione, della scienza e della tecnologia, della sanità e in altri ambiti. 

Xi ha affermato che la Cina e l’Egitto rappresentano un esempio di amicizia, solidarietà e coordinamento tra Paesi in via di sviluppo, sottolineando che entrambi sono importanti membri del Sud del mondo. 

La posizione dell’Egitto conferisce a tale partenariato una dimensione territoriale più ampia. In quanto importante Paese arabo e africano, funge da ponte tra il mondo arabo e l’Africa, mentre la Cina e l’Egitto collaborano in contesti multilaterali quali le Nazioni Unite e il BRICS.

Non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to support innovation and operational excellence within the energy sector.

Under the MOU, the companies intend to undertake preliminary technical onboarding and engage in knowledge exchange activities. The acquisition expands Resonant’s Biorepository capabilities in Europe and strengthens its ability to support increasingly complex clinical programs, including cell and gene therapy trials requiring highly specialized handling and storage. 

Based in Bailly-Romainvilliers, France, Creapharm Bioservices provides specialized biobanking and cryogenic storage for biotherapeutics, Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) and biological samples, including vapor-phase nitrogen storage to -196°C, mechanical freezer and cold storage, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) sample storage and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) quality-control sample custody. The acquisition addresses a growing need as clinical pipelines shift toward increasingly specialized modalities.
