COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

346,527 participants across 173 countries took part in the 13th edition of the global fundraising run.

SALZBURG, Austria, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Wings for Life World Run 2026 raised a record €9.2 million for spinal cord injury research on Sunday, as 346,527 participants from 192 nationalities took part across 173 countries. The 13th edition started simultaneously at 11:00 UTC through seven Flagship Runs, 648 App Run Events and the Wings for Life World Run App. One hundred percent of all entry fees and donations raised go directly to the Wings for Life Foundation, whose mission is to find a cure for spinal cord injury.

Spinal cord injury accounts for up to 500,000 new cases globally each year, according to the World Health Organization (2013) and Wei et al. (2025), and remains one of the most underfunded areas of medical research. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Salzburg, Austria, Wings for Life has funded 344 peer-reviewed research projects worldwide. The foundation currently supports 72 active projects across 15 countries, with funding decisions informed by an internationally renowned Scientific Advisory Board and a pool of 737 expert reviewers involved to date.

Japan’s Jo Fukuda set a new men’s world record with 78.95 km in Fukuoka, Japan. Mikky Keetels of the Netherlands set a new women’s world record with 62.24 km in Breda, Netherlands. Participants covered a combined 2,889,278.26 km worldwide.

“Everything raised goes directly to the cause, nothing is wasted,” said Christian Göritz, PhD, principal investigator at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, and a Wings for Life-funded researcher. “As a researcher working on spinal cord injury every day, to see this level of support is incredibly powerful. Spinal cord injury cannot be solved alone — what makes this event so special is that everyone can take part, no matter their level, and every contribution truly counts.”

The event uses a Catcher Car format, with a moving finish line that begins 30 minutes after the global start and allows runners, walkers and wheelchair users to compete in the same race.

Spinal cord injury remains one of the most underfunded areas of medical research, making Wings for Life’s direct funding model especially significant for advancing new therapies.

Intertribal Timber Council Responds to European Commission EUDR Review: “No Relief for Indigenous Forest Stewardship”

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

Tribal Nations say Commission failed to address disproportionate burdens on low-risk Tribal forestry

WASHINGTON, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Intertribal Timber Council (ITC) expressed deep disappointment following the European Commission’s release of its EUDR simplification review, saying the package offers no meaningful relief for Indigenous Tribal Nations and leaves major concerns raised by Tribal forest managers unresolved.

Despite months of engagement from Tribal representatives and repeated warnings about unintended impacts on Indigenous communities, the Commission declined to reopen the regulation and instead proposed only limited technical adjustments through implementing acts, FAQs, and guidance documents.

As a result, compliance obligations affecting Tribal Nations in low-risk countries remain fundamentally unchanged.

“Tribal Nations are some of the most successful forest stewards in the world, yet the European Commission continues to treat Indigenous forestry systems as if they pose the same risks as regions experiencing active deforestation,” said Cody Desautel, President of the Intertribal Timber Council and Executive Director of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. “That is not risk-based policymaking. It is a failure to recognize Indigenous governance, sustainable management, and sovereignty.”

U.S. Tribal Nations manage 7.8 million hectares of forestland under sovereign governance systems supported by long-term management plans, active restoration practices, prescribed fire, and sustainable harvest standards designed to protect forests for future generations.

The ITC emphasized that Tribal Nations support the EU’s goal of preventing global deforestation. However, the organization warned that the current EUDR framework is already disrupting U.S. forest product supply chains, even before full implementation begins in December 2026.

Wood entering EU markets in 2026 is being harvested now, and Tribal producers are already facing new compliance demands through downstream contracts and customer requirements.

“The paradox is impossible to ignore,” Desautel said. “A law intended to protect forests is creating barriers for Indigenous peoples who have successfully protected forests for generations.”

The ITC is calling on the European Commission to recognize Tribal forests in the United States as low-risk, legally protected systems; simplify geolocation requirements for Indigenous and low-risk forestry operations; establish temporary compliance flexibility during implementation; and engage in meaningful government-to-government consultation with Tribal Nations before final enforcement.

Established in 1976, the ITC is a nonprofit nation-wide consortium of Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Corporations, and individuals dedicated to improving the management of natural resources of importance to Native American communities.

MBC GROUP REGISTRA UNA SOLIDA PERFORMANCE NEL PRIMO TRIMESTRE DEL 2026, GRAZIE ALLA FORTE CRESCITA DI MBC SHAHID

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

AARHUS, Denmark, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, today announced the expansion of its Holme, Denmark heat pump and chiller facility, increasing production and testing capabilities to meet growing demand for high-capacity heat pumps across Europe. Operating on 100% green energy, the site strengthens European manufacturing capability while helping to reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels.

The expansion includes 2,300 additional square meters of new production space and an 1,800 square meter customer experience and test centre, compliant with the latest European Heat Pump Association testing standard (EN 14511). Together, these additions strengthen Johnson Controls ability to design, build and validate high-capacity heat pumps for district heating, public infrastructure and industrial applications, including high–stakes environments from research campuses and life–science labs to universities and food–and–beverage operations. The project is expected to create more than 100 new local jobs and includes modernization of existing buildings at the site.

The EU Commissioner Energy & Housing, Dan Jørgensen, together with Mayor Anders Winnerskjold from the City of Aarhus, and EU Policy Assistant, Rasmus Beim Hvide joined Johnson Controls employees and partners to mark the opening of the expanded facility.

“With generations of manufacturing expertise in Europe and a market-leading position in commercial and large–scale heat pumps, this expansion in Holme reinforces our long–term commitment to building critical technologies here, for Europe,” said Richard Lek, president EMEA at Johnson Controls. “By scaling production and real–world testing of large heat pumps, we are enabling municipalities and energy-intensive industries to electrify heat, lower costs and reduce emissions – with solutions designed, engineered, built and tested close to where they are deployed.”

Heat accounts for more than 60% of energy use in European industries, according to the European Heat Pump Association, spiking costs and draining resources that otherwise could go to innovation and bolstering competitiveness. Advances in heat pump technology now can turn this around. Electrifying heat through large–scale heat pumps allows cities and industries to capture natural and waste heat from sources such as wastewater, seawater, geothermal energy and industrial processes. This serves to transform otherwise lost energy into affordable, low–carbon heating. In 2025, Johnson Controls heat pump solutions helped customers reduce heating energy costs by up to 32% and cut emissions by up to 55%, underscoring the urgency of scaling proven technologies.

The Holme facility manufactures customized Sabroe–branded heat pumps and chillers, along with remanufactured, aftermarket and marine spare parts. Using zero and low GWP refrigerants, the technologies are designed to align with upcoming EU regulations taking effect from 2027 and 2030.

“This site has served as a foundation for heating and cooling innovation since Thomas Sabroe founded the business here in 1897,” said Benthe Klokkerholm, vice president, Manufacturing Operations HVAC/R, EMEA. “With this expansion, Aarhus further cements its role as a centre of excellence for district heating technology delivering value to customers across Europe and the wider region.”

Johnson Controls has delivered large-scale heat pumps to hundreds of customers across Europe and beyond, for example Vattenfall Berlin, Energie Baden-Württemberg in Germany, New Aalborg University Hospital in Denmark, and upcoming projects due to start operations later this year such as Hamburg, Neustadt in Holstein and in 2027 in Zurich.

The Holme facility complements Johnson Controls’ broader European and regional manufacturing footprint, alongside sites in Nantes, France; Milan, Italy; Cork, Ireland and Budapest, Hungary supporting customers across the region.

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

SAP and Cyberwave Deploy Fully Autonomous AI-Powered Robots in Live SAP Logistics Warehouse

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

WALLDORF, Germany, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP), the global leader in enterprise application software, and Cyberwave, an AI robotics software company, today announced the successful deployment of fully autonomous, AI-powered robots in an active SAP logistics warehouse. Building on SAP’s strategic expansion of Physical AI capabilities announced last year, this initiative marks a major milestone: SAP is now operationalizing advanced robotics within its own facilities.

The deployment at SAP’s warehouse in St. Leon-Rot, Germany-operated on SAP Logistics Management (LGM), SAP’s cloud-native logistics execution solution-demonstrates that Physical AI is no longer a research concept. It is delivering measurable throughput improvements today, with robots performing box folding, packaging, and shipping fulfillment tasks fully autonomously.

About the Integration

SAP LGM’s lean, API-first architecture-which drew significant attention at LogiMAT 2026 for its rapid implementation and standardized processes-provides the ideal foundation for robotic automation. Tasks are translated into precise robot commands through the SAP Embodied AI Service, enabling end-to-end integration via SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and the Cyberwave platform in a matter of minutes.

“By integrating AI-powered robotics directly into our live warehouse operations, we are proving that Physical AI is no longer a concept—it’s delivering real value today. At our St. Leon-Rot warehouse, SAP LGM provides the digital backbone that allows robots to be deployed quickly, operate reliably, and scale with our processes. This is a decisive step toward more resilient and efficient logistics operations.” – Tim Kuebler, Head of Warehouse & Shipping, SAP

Why Logistics Robotics Is Hard-and How Cyberwave Solves It

Logistics environments are among the most challenging settings for robotics. Robots must handle diverse and irregularly shaped objects, fold and pack boxes, move packages, apply labels, and process shipping orders-tasks that vary constantly in objects, layouts, and conditions. Traditional robotic systems require painstaking hand-coding for each task variation and often break down when real-world conditions shift.

Cyberwave has developed the first platform purpose-built to solve this challenge end-to-end. At its core, Cyberwave enables operators to:

The result: robots that can actually perform high-variability tasks in dynamic environments. Whereas conventional systems require weeks of engineering per task, Cyberwave’s approach reduces training time from weeks to hours. Non-expert operators can teach robots new tasks through simple demonstrations, and the system automatically adapts to variations in objects, environments, and workflows.

“Partnering with SAP on a live warehouse deployment is a defining moment-not just for Cyberwave, but for what AI-powered robotics can actually deliver in enterprise logistics today. What makes this possible is the combination of SAP LGM’s robust digital backbone and Cyberwave’s ability to collect real-world training data and fine-tune VLA and RL models that generalize across the variability you find in any real warehouse. Robots no longer need to be painstakingly programmed for every object or scenario-they learn, adapt, and keep improving.

Hantavirus, in Toscana nessun allarmismo. Parola del governatore Giani

FIRENZE – Sull’Hantavirus nessun allarmismo.

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

WARSAW, Poland, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Bambu Lab is celebrating a major win today, as detailed in a new blog post. Following a rigorous full-day hands-on assessment by a panel of independent psychologists, physiotherapists, industry journalists, and celebrity parents, Bambu Lab’s A1 Combo has been crowned a top pick for educators and parents alike.

The award granted to Bambu Lab A1 Combo validated the reasons why families, educators, and makers choose Bambu Lab. It’s the reliability, ease of use, repeatable results, as well as simply the ability to turn creative ideas into something real.

A Historic First for Educational Toys

The Bambu Lab A1 Combo has received the “Parents’ Award 2026” in the “Educational Aid” category. Organized by Zabawkowicz, one of the most important authorities in the Polish and Central European children’s industry, the Parents’ Award is a quality mark granted twice a year by a panel that includes psychologists, physiotherapists, industry journalists, and well-known parents.

This year’s 23rd edition of the Toy of the Year competition was exceptional – marking the first time in the competition’s history that a 3D printer, the Bambu Lab A1 Combo, won in the educational aids category.

The jury recognized that the A1 Combo is not a single-purpose device, but a versatile creative platform. It supports projects across all levels of complexity – from simple figurines to advanced educational models.

Its role in building future-ready skills was explicitly highlighted: 3D modelling, logical thinking, and problem-solving in line with the STEAM approach. Independent experts, evaluating without bias, reached the same conclusion that the Bambu Lab community already holds: this technology belongs in the hands of the next generation.

From Dad’s Basement to the Child’s Bedroom

The goal of entering the competition was to reach parents who had heard about 3D printing but had never had the opportunity to see what this technology could offer their child – whether for homework, school projects, or simple creative play on the weekend.

With the Bambu Lab A1 Combo, children could directly experience how a finished object – a gadget, an educational model, or a puzzle component – is created from a spool of filament. The machine’s approachability, the immediacy of results, and its ability to turn creative thinking into something children could hold in their hands: the experts saw all of this firsthand.

The Parents’ Award serves as a credible, independent confirmation that the Bambu Lab A1 Combo is ready for everyday use at home and can be operated by children.

In short, the judges concluded that the A1 Combo belongs on a shelf in a child’s room next to school supplies – not in dad’s basement.

During the final event, the jury and their children tested all submitted products in practice throughout the day.

The event also featured the Bambu Lab P2S Combo printer and CyberBrick kits, which combine 3D printing with electronics and programming, supported by Bambu Studio software and the Bambu Handy app.

Robust Ecosystem

The printer’s entry into the competition was submitted by Botland – the largest Bambu Lab reseller in Poland and one of the top five in Europe, also serving the Czech market. Botland was founded in 2010 by two students of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Szymon Mońka and Bartosz Derkacz. Today, Botland is a big Polish company specializing in the distribution of electronic equipment, minicomputers, robotics and mechanical components, building automation systems, and 3D printing solutions.

The award is also further proof that choosing Bambu Lab is always the right decision. Whether the printer is used in a professional design studio, a school lab, or a child’s bedroom – Bambu Lab products set the standard. And it’s not just about the hardware: the broader Bambu ecosystem ensures every user, from curious child to seasoned designer, has the tools to go further. This includes intuitive software like Bambu Studio and Bambu Handy, a thriving global maker community, and access to a vast number of free, downloadable 3D models via MakerWorld.

The Parents’ Award 2026 is an achievement, but also another step along the way. Further initiatives and events aimed at families are already planned – because we firmly believe technology that transforms education should be accessible to everyone.

About Bambu Lab

Bambu Lab is a consumer tech innovator dedicated to redefining desktop 3D printing. By creating cutting-edge tools like the groundbreaking X1 series, the company bridges the gap between digital imagination and physical reality, empowering creators worldwide with unprecedented speed and precision.

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

MUNICH, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Infineon’s Startup Challenge brings together promising founder teams and young high-tech companies from across the globe to work jointly on a highly relevant topic: humanoid robotics. The Challenge is a structured innovation program designed to develop technological concepts into market-ready applications. It is part of Infineon’s global Co–Innovation Program, in which Infineon drives innovation together with startups as a technology and development partner.

“Semiconductors are the foundation of humanoid robotics and a key growth driver. Strategic collaboration with startups creates a win-win situation, combining novel ideas with industrially proven semiconductor technologies and thereby accelerating innovative, market-ready applications in this future-oriented field. Innovation does not occur in isolation, but rather where our customers’ challenges meet entrepreneurial courage, technological expertise and rapid implementation. The Startup Challenge is therefore a key pillar of our innovation culture,” says Sören Jehmlich, Vice President Ventures, Startups & Ecosystems at Infineon.

Technological focus areas of the challenge

The 2026 Challenge is aimed at emerging technology companies working on solutions for humanoid robotics, particularly in the following areas:

“Humanoid robotics—or more broadly, physical AI—is a relevant topic for Infineon. In this young and dynamic market segment in particular, our semiconductor products offer clear advantages as system solutions for developing robotic applications: for example, in energy-efficient and precise actuation, sensing for environmental perception and system connectivity. In the Infineon Startup Challenge, young technology companies can transform their ideas into real, scalable applications using our hardware and software demo kits,” says Dirk Geiger, Senior Director & Team Lead Humanoid Robotics at Infineon.

From application to industrial application

Ambitious startups can submit their ideas up until 27 May 2026. Following the application phase, an expert jury will conduct a multi-stage selection process. The teams selected will take part in a multi-month technology and development program, gain access to Infineon technologies, prototyping kits as well as hardware and software solutions and will participate in pitch events and workshops.

Additionally, the teams will receive technical support and mentoring for prototype development, as well as business and presentation training. The program concludes with demo and pitch sessions, where results are presented to an expert audience of industry representatives, deep-tech investors and decision-makers.

Strong partner network and expert jury

The program is being implemented together with a network of technology, industry and financing partners. The jury combines deep technological expertise with entrepreneurial and strategic investment know-how. A key component of the Challenge is direct interaction with investors and financing partners from the deep-tech and innovation ecosystem. The goal is to make promising technologies visible at an early stage and support them during growth and scaling.

The program is supported within the framework of the Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) for microelectronics and computer technology, which promotes the development of European innovation ecosystems, and other sources.

COMUNICATO STAMPA – CONTENUTO PROMOZIONALE

Bridge to life highlights study presented as oral late-breaking clinical trial during “The 2026 International Congress of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS)” in Geneva, Switzerland, May 6-9, 2026

DULUTH, Ga., May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A first-of-its-kind global multicenter study has established the first international benchmark framework for pediatric liver transplantation (PLT), providing a long-awaited reference framework for morbidity, complications, graft survival, and recipient outcomes across diverse pediatric transplant populations worldwide.

Presented as an oral late-breaking clinical trial during the 2026 International Congress of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) in Geneva, Switzerland, this landmark analysis addresses one of the most significant unmet needs in pediatric transplantation: the absence of globally standardized outcome benchmarks to guide graft selection, risk stratification, and post-transplant quality assessment. For additional details, click here for the abstract.

Led by Sapana Verma, MD, PhD, and under the mentorship of Prof. Andrea Schlegel, from Cleveland Clinic, the study analyzed primary pediatric liver transplants performed between 2000 and 2024 across nine high-volume transplant centers spanning North America, Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa/Middle East.

“Globally accepted benchmark standards for pediatric liver transplantation have been sorely lacking,” said Dr. Verma. “Our goal has been to establish international benchmark reference standards for morbidity and survival after pediatric liver transplantation and to derive a data-driven graft-selection decision framework across heterogeneous pediatric subgroups.”

The benchmark cohort demonstrated significantly lower major morbidity, fewer renal, vascular, and biliary complications, as well as shorter ICU and hospital length of stay. Importantly, the benchmarking model robustly differentiated outcomes across heterogeneous pediatric populations, creating a scalable platform for future global quality assessment and risk-adjusted outcome analysis.

The researchers plan to expand the work to a ≥10,000 recipient multicenter cohort to establish definitive global reference standards and validate outcome thresholds across recipient age, weight, liver disease etiology, graft type, and combined risk profiles.

“This work is highly important because pediatric transplantation has historically lacked the standardized reference points that exist in adult transplantation,” said Don Webber, President and CEO of Bridge to Life Ltd. “As the field advances toward precision graft assessment, viability evaluation, and optimized preservation strategies such as hypothermic oxygenated perfusion (HOPE), having robust benchmark standards becomes essential. These reference standards help define not only what success looks like, but how we improve access to safe transplantation for more pediatric patients worldwide.”

Research involving Bridge to Life’s VitaSmart™ Hypothermic Oxygenated Perfusion (HOPE) System has demonstrated HOPE to be safe and effective in pediatric liver transplantation, supporting the growing role of machine perfusion and viability-guided decision-making in this highly specialized population.

As pediatric transplantation moves toward more individualized graft selection and broader use of advanced preservation technologies, these newly established benchmark standards provide a critical foundation for the next generation of clinical decision-making. While benchmarking defines what is achievable, advanced preservation strategies such as HOPE offer a promising pathway to bring higher-risk grafts closer to benchmark-level outcomes.

Studies presented as part of “The 2026 International Congress of the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS)” in Geneva, Switzerland, May 6-9, 2026

Presentations further support use of HOPE in U.S. and EU for making more organs available for transplantation, reducing registry list waiting times

DULUTH, Ga., May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Bridge to Life™ Ltd., a global innovator in organ preservation solutions and perfusion technology, today announced new data from studies using Hypothermic Oxygenated Perfusion (HOPE) for the preservation of donor livers awaiting transplantation. The studies collectively demonstrate that HOPE with VitaSmart™ improves utilization of steatotic, older, and previously discarded donor livers, while preserving mitochondrial function and supporting flavin mononucleotide (FMN) as a direct biomarker of graft viability. Together, these findings strengthen the clinical and economic case for broader adoption of HOPE across transplant centers in the U.S. and Europe.

“FDA clearance of VitaSmart™ established Bridge to Life as the first company to bring HOPE to the U.S. market as a cleared platform for liver transplantation. These new ILTS data reinforce that HOPE is not simply a preservation strategy—it is a tool for organ recovery, viability assessment, and better transplant decision-making,” said Don Webber, president and CEO of Bridge to Life Ltd. “By extending the use of marginal donor organs and preserving mitochondrial integrity, we are helping transplant teams move from preservation toward precision transplantation.”

“Recovering the Discarded Livers Using Hope”

Further Research on the Impact of Extended Use of HOPE on Mitochondrial Function and Flavin Mononucleotide (FMN) Provides Transplant Surgeons With Greater Flexibility in Scheduling Transplant Procedures

“Prolonged HOPE Preserves Mitochondrial Function and Enables Logistical Flexibility in Liver Transplantation”
