The collaboration will initially focus on two areas: working to bring HUMAIN’s ALLAM models to Microsoft’s AI ecosystem and bringing together HUMAIN’s AI experts with Microsoft’s Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to work directly with organizations to support the identification, development and deployment of high-value AI solutions across Microsoft technologies. 

The collaboration builds on Microsoft’s AI platform – including Microsoft 365 Copilot Microsoft Foundry and others – and HUMAIN’s AI capabilities across Arabic language models and AI applications. Together, the companies will initially focus on helping organizations accelerate AI adoption through Arabic-language AI capabilities and hands-on engineering support, while exploring opportunities to deepen the collaboration across additional areas over time. 

The companies intend to make ALLAM available through Microsoft Foundry, giving developers and enterprises access to HUMAIN’s Arabic language models within Microsoft’s AI ecosystem. Organizations could use the models to build, customize and deploy AI applications and agents designed to support Arabic-language and regional business requirements. 

Through Microsoft M365 Copilot, organizations would be able to create mission-critical specialized agents that leverage ALLAM’s Arabic-language capabilities in productivity and business workflows. ALLAM represents the first technology milestone planned under the collaboration and provides an initial foundation for broader collaboration between HUMAIN’s AI capabilities and Microsoft’s platforms. 

As part of the collaboration, HUMAIN’s AI experts and Microsoft’s Forward Deployed Engineers will work alongside Microsoft teams and customers across Microsoft’s AI ecosystem. Their role will extend beyond ALLAM, providing hands-on engineering support to organizations implementing AI solutions across a range of Microsoft technologies and customer environments. 

Working directly alongside customer teams, HUMAIN and Microsoft’s engineers will help identify high-value use cases, integrate AI into existing workflows, configure and optimize deployments, and support the transition from experimentation towards mission-critical, production-scale implementation.

Un chiaro allarme sul fronte delle risorse destinate alla gestione quotidiana della Difesa arriva da Usmia Esercito. L’associazione professionale a carattere sindacale tra militari ha rivolto un appello urgente al ministro della difesa, quantificando in oltre 110 milioni di euro le risorse aggiuntive necessarie per il 2027 al fine di garantire i servizi essenziali, le utenze e le retribuzioni accessorie del personale.

Nel dettaglio delle coperture, la richiesta economica del sindacato individua precise voci di spesa: “50 milioni di euro in più per i viveri, almeno 30 milioni per acqua, luce e gas e altri 30 milioni per il lavoro straordinario. Sono le risorse aggiuntive che Usmia Esercito ritiene necessarie per il 2027 e sulle quali chiede un intervento urgente al ministro della difesa. Per i viveri, lo stanziamento attuale indicato nel documento è di 112 milioni di euro, mentre per il lavoro straordinario le attuali dotazioni ammontano a circa 67 milioni, ritenuti insufficienti a coprire il fabbisogno complessivo”.

Al centro del malessere manifestato dal personale vi sono i ritardi nei pagamenti e la gestione delle trasferte operative sul territorio: “Secondo quanto rappresentato a Usmia da numerosi militari, si registrano ritardi anche significativi nella corresponsione delle competenze accessorie maturate per servizi già svolti. Per i servizi isolati istituzionali, numerose segnalazioni riferiscono inoltre casi nei quali il personale è chiamato ad anticipare direttamente consistenti spese per vitto e alloggio, sostenendo costi connessi all’impiego disposto dall’amministrazione e sottraendoli al fabbisogno familiare”.

La carenza dei fondi dedicati all’esercizio si ripercuote direttamente sulla qualità della vita nelle caserme, sulle infrastrutture e sul servizio di ristorazione: “Criticità vengono segnalate anche nelle strutture militari utilizzate per l’alloggiamento del personale, con problemi manutentivi e standard non sempre adeguati a garantire condizioni di decoro e dignità. Usmia richiama in particolare la necessità di un finanziamento costante per mantenere pienamente fruibili gli alloggi App e Asc… Le limitazioni delle risorse disponibili possono incidere sulla qualità del servizio e sugli standard alimentari. In alcune realtà, per garantirne continuità e qualità, gli enti si trovano nella necessità di ricorrere a rimodulazioni o storni da altri capitoli di spesa, con il rischio di rinviare interventi di manutenzione, ammodernamento e miglioramento delle infrastrutture”

L’associazione chiede quindi un cambio di passo e una revisione strutturale dei bilanci per non compromettere l’operatività dello strumento militare: “Usmia Esercito chiede quindi al ministro della difesa di individuare e rendere immediatamente disponibili le risorse necessarie per pagare tempestivamente missioni e competenze accessorie, garantire la piena copertura dei Cfi, finanziare adeguatamente i servizi isolati, assicurare vitto e alloggio senza anticipazioni a carico dei militari e sostenere mense, infrastrutture e alloggi. Per Usmia, garantire queste risorse non rappresenta una spesa accessoria, ma una condizione indispensabile per assicurare la piena efficienza operativa dell’Esercito e il rispetto dovuto agli uomini e alle donne che quotidianamente ne garantiscono il funzionamento“.

Nato a Roma il 6 giugno 1906 da un’antica famiglia aristocratica, Borghese scelse molto presto la vita militare. Frequentò l’Accademia navale di Livorno, dalla quale uscì nel 1928 con il grado di guardiamarina, per poi specializzarsi nelle armi subacquee e nel comando dei sommergibili.

Il nome di Junio Valerio Borghese rimane legato soprattutto all’impresa di Alessandria del dicembre 1941. Lo Scirè riuscì ad avvicinarsi alla base navale britannica e a rilasciare gli incursori italiani, che penetrarono nel porto e colpirono le corazzate Queen Elizabeth e Valiant.

L’operazione rappresentò uno dei maggiori successi della Marina italiana durante il conflitto e viene ancora oggi studiata per l’efficacia della pianificazione, per l’impiego innovativo dei mezzi subacquei e per il valore dimostrato dagli uomini coinvolti.

Borghese svolse un ruolo determinante nella preparazione e nella conduzione della missione, accompagnando lo Scirè attraverso una navigazione particolarmente delicata e garantendo agli operatori le condizioni necessarie per portare a termine l’azione.

Per le capacità dimostrate e per i risultati conseguiti gli venne conferita la Medaglia d’oro al valor militare. Il riconoscimento consacrò la sua reputazione di ufficiale capace di coniugare competenza tecnica, intuito operativo e attitudine al comando.

Dopo l’armistizio dell’8 settembre 1943, la sua vita attraversò una fase differente e politicamente complessa. Borghese scelse di continuare a combattere e aderì alla Repubblica sociale italiana, mantenendo il comando della Decima Mas. Nel dopoguerra si impegnò nella politica nazionale e il suo nome fu successivamente associato al controverso tentativo di colpo di Stato del dicembre 1970.

Questi avvenimenti hanno alimentato nel tempo giudizi contrapposti sulla sua figura. La valutazione storica non può prescindere dalla complessità delle sue scelte politiche, ma resta distinta e riconosciuta la rilevanza delle operazioni navali condotte durante la prima parte del conflitto.

Dopo aver lasciato l’Italia, Junio Valerio Borghese trascorse gli ultimi anni in Spagna. Morì a Cadice il 26 agosto 1974, all’età di 68 anni, lasciando una biografia profondamente legata alla storia del mare e della Marina italiana.

A 52 anni dalla scomparsa, il suo nome continua a richiamare una stagione nella quale uomini, sommergibili e mezzi d’assalto affrontavano missioni considerate quasi impossibili. Una storia fatta di preparazione, sacrificio e coraggio, che conserva ancora oggi un posto significativo nella memoria navale del Paese.

The E-round consists of $26 million previously raised through a SAFE financing and $24 million through the Company’s Series E-2 round. Proceeds will primarily support Airway’s completion of the ongoing Phase 2b portion of the Phase 2b/3 clinical trial evaluating zelpultide alfa for the prevention of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in very preterm infants, as well as associated chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) and analytical activities required to advance the program.

La Toscana prova a delineare una strategia di lungo termine per difendere il proprio litorale dai fenomeni erosivi e dagli impatti dei cambiamenti climatici. Il governatore Eugenio Giani e l’assessore all’Ambiente David Barontini, insieme al direttore della Protezione civile Giovanni Massini, hanno presentato il nuovo Masterplan della costa 2026.

Il documento fissa le linee di indirizzo regionali per programmare gli interventi da attuare nei prossimi vent’anni, stimando un fabbisogno complessivo di 547 milioni e 710mila euro. La sfida più impellente riguarda tuttavia il primo decennio di applicazione del piano, per il quale sono previsti fondi per circa 166 milioni di euro. Oltre 134 milioni serviranno per le opere strutturali, mentre 28,4 milioni saranno destinati alle attività di ripristino stagionale e 2,8 milioni a studi e ricerche.

Il presidente Giani ha sottolineato le priorità geografiche del piano: “Le emergenze più significative le riscontriamo nella parte nord della costa toscana, dalla Versilia fino soprattutto alla provincia di Massa-Carrara, anche in relazione alla necessità di realizzare interventi che siano complementari alla presenza e alla struttura del porto di Marina di Carrara. Ma il Masterplan guarda all’intero litorale regionale: penso anche al fronte di Punta Ala e Follonica e, da lì, verso il Parco dell’Uccellina”. Sull’aspetto finanziario, il governatore ha ricordato come, dopo l’esclusione dai fondi Pnrr, la Regione stia guardando “sui fondi strutturali europei e in particolare sulla nuova programmazione settennale del Fesr che partirà dal 2028. Allo stesso tempo auspichiamo che arrivino anche risorse nazionali da parte del Governo”.

La parte più consistente degli investimenti si concentrerà nel tratto compreso tra la foce del Magra e Livorno, dove sono previsti interventi per 189 milioni di euro. Altre risorse significative saranno destinate ai settori Talamone-Osa-Santa Liberata-Feniglia (57,1 milioni) e Punta Rocchette-Cala Rossa (51,9 milioni).

Un ruolo centrale nella difesa della costa sarà affidato ai ripascimenti, con un fabbisogno stimato in 2,8 milioni di metri cubi di sedimenti. Come spiegato dall’assessore Barontini: “Ci sono poi interventi strutturali già programmati. A Marina di Pisa, ad esempio, sono stati stanziati 7 milioni di euro per intervenire sulla cosiddetta “cella 4”, con la modifica dell’attuale spiaggia di ghiaia e il suo prolungamento di circa 70 metri”.

Il direttore della Protezione civile, Giovanni Massini, ha infine offerto una chiave di lettura scientifica, legata all’alterazione degli equilibri naturali: “Pensare di tornare alla situazione della costa di un secolo fa non è realistico. Già riuscire a mantenere sostanzialmente l’attuale linea di costa, accompagnandola con miglioramenti localizzati nelle situazioni più critiche, come quella di Massa, rappresenta un obiettivo molto sfidante. For 53% of active solar users, easy DIY installation was the deciding purchase factor yet misconceptions around regulations and rental rights hold back 76% of interested consumers. 

DÜSSELDORF, Germany, Aug. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — German consumers are eager for solar energy, but fear of bureaucracy and technical friction continues to stall mass adoption. According to a new study by Zendure, a global pioneer in plug-in HEMS (Home Energy Management Systems), 76 percent of surveyed non-solar households express strong interest in home solar systems. However, practical everyday barriers are keeping them on the sidelines: 29 percent of renters are unsure about their installation rights, 27 percent feel overwhelmed by regulations and paperwork, and 22 percent consider the setup too complicated. In contrast, current user experience proves the power of simplicity: 53 percent of existing solar owners cited easy, DIY-friendly installation as the most critical factor in their purchasing decision. 

The findings highlight a growing complexity paradox for renters, newcomers, and less tech-savvy consumers navigating product selection, regulatory frameworks, and cost-benefit calculations. While the appetite is clear, 17 percent of non-owners have researched solar systems extensively and another 54 percent have conducted initial research, most consumers still lack the targeted guidance needed to turn general interest into a confident purchase decision. 

Perception vs. Reality: Regulatory Doubts Persist 

Among the biggest roadblocks are everyday legal and practical questions. Nearly a third (29 percent) of respondents without solar live in rented accommodation and are uncertain whether they are permitted to install a balcony or plug-in system. Furthermore, more than one in four (27 percent) find current regulations, permits, and registration procedures unclear, while 22 percent are deterred by perceived technical complexity. 

Crucially, the study reveals that many of these hurdles are more perceived than real. Since 2024, German legislation has explicitly granted tenants the legal right to install plug-in solar systems, raised the feed-in limit to 800 W, and streamlined registration into a single, simplified market master data entry (Marktstammdatenregister). The current bottleneck is therefore no longer regulatory, but informational, consumers still perceive solar as a daunting technical project, even though the legal and technical pathways have never been more accessible.  

Product Overwhelm and Decision Fatigue 

In addition to legal and technical questions, product selection itself also presents a challenge. Eighteen percent of respondents find it difficult to choose the right product from the multitude of available solutions. An equal number perceive a lack of clear and trustworthy information. Consumers often struggle to determine which system best suits their household, available space, and individual electricity consumption. At the same time, they must compare different storage capacities, performance levels, installation methods, and control options. 

Simplicity Outweighs Price: The Deciding Factor 

For 53 percent, easy installation and the ability to set up the system independently was the single most important factor in their buying decision—ranking far ahead of superior technology (32 percent), value for money (31 percent), customer reviews (28 percent), or warranty coverage (27 percent). Design was a primary consideration for just 8 percent. Simplicity and reliability remain essential throughout the system lifecycle: 52 percent of all respondents rate these qualities as very important, and for another 33 percent, they are indispensable. Individuals in the U.S. can now add Humanity Biological Age’s lab-informed insights to select health profile tests purchased through Quest’s consumer-initiated testing platform 

LONDON, Aug. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Humanity Health Inc. (“Humanity”), the longevity science company, and Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) today announced that Humanity Biological Age, Humanity’s scientifically validated model for measuring biological age from biomarker lab test results, is now available in the United States for the first time through questhealth.com, Quest’s consumer-initiated testing platform. 

Individuals now have the option to select the Humanity Biological Age add-on when purchasing select health profile tests from questhealth.com including Elite Health Profile, Men’s and Women’s Comprehensive Health Profiles, and Fitness Profile — Elite, with no additional blood draw needed. After completing a health profile sample collection at one of Quest’s approximately 2,000 patient service centers across the U.S., customers can upload their lab results from Quest directly to Humanity’s platform. The Humanity Biological Age add-on will cost $29 at questhealth.com. 

The Humanity Biological Age report gives individuals a scientifically validated measure of biological age from their lab results, alongside their age difference, which shows how that estimate compares with their chronological age. For those who test more than once, it also shows how that difference is trending over time. The report identifies which of the body’s systems are influencing the result, including cardiovascular, metabolic, liver, kidney, blood, immune and inflammatory, hormonal, and bone and mineral health. Each is expressed as the number of years it adds to or subtracts from the biological age result. The report also includes general information on lifestyle actions associated with biological age. 

Biological age is a measure of how well a person’s body is functioning, rather than simply how many years they have lived. Developed with Imperial College London, Humanity Biological Age turns the biomarkers measured in routine blood tests into a single, easy-to-understand, biological age number that individuals can act on and track over time. 

Humanity Biological Age is built on research published in the peer-reviewed journal Communications Biology, a Nature Publishing Group journal. The model was trained on more than 306,000 UK Biobank participants followed for an average of 11.6 years, and validated on a separate cohort. In data captured by Humanity, 83% of individuals said their Humanity Biological Age result would prompt them to improve their lifestyle, and 80% said they intended to retest within six to 12 months to see whether their changes were reflected in their biological age.1
 

With this launch, Humanity Biological Age is available in five countries, with further markets to follow.
