Vision AI-based solution enables retailers to recover or deter more than 75% of self-checkout losses via real-time detection, with privacy by design  

ZÜRICH, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Scandit, the leader in smart data capture, today announced Self-Checkout Loss Prevention, a real-time vision AI solution that helps retailers detect loss patterns whether accidental or intentional as they happen. The solution empowers shoppers to self-correct, without store associate intervention in the majority of cases, to keep the checkout flow uninterrupted. 

Scandit’s entry into the loss prevention market addresses one of retail’s most visible tensions: reducing loss at self checkout without adding friction that frustrates shoppers or burdens store teams. Self-checkout now handles 54% of transactions in stores that have it. Those stores carry losses 33% higher than comparable stores without it, and loss rises an average of 22% in the year after installation, according to ECR Retail Loss’s Self-Checkout Loss Report 2026. During the reporting period, it achieved operating revenue of CNY 63.332 billion (USD 9.17 billion), up 16.6% year‑on‑year; net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached CNY 970 million (USD 140.49 million), an increase of 18.2%; and new orders totaled CNY 100.39 billion (USD 14.54 billion), marking further progress in energy transition, high‑end intelligent manufacturing, and international expansion. 

Sustained momentum across three business pillars, with orders providing long‑term visibility 

Shanghai Electric’s Energy Equipment segment posted revenue of CNY 36.558 billion (USD 5.29 billion), up 21.4% year‑on‑year, driven by growth in its wind power and energy storage businesses. The Industrial Equipment segment generated CNY 18.954 billion (USD 2.75 billion) in revenue, a 1.9% increase, as digital and smart technologies reinforced its position in machine tools, elevators, and industrial components. LIMASSOL, Cyprus, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — NNS today announces that NNS is launching a voluntary all-cash public offer for all the issued and outstanding shares in the capital of OCI (each a “Share”) at a cash amount of EUR 4.10 without interest (“Offer Price”) cum dividend per Share, and that the Offer Memorandum has been published today. 

Transaction highlights  

Support by the Board 

On 1 July 2026, OCI issued a press release in which the Board (excluding Nassef Sawiris and Nadia Sawiris and the Enterprise Chamber Directors) formally recommended the Offer at EUR 4.10 cum dividend per Share. Additionally, the Enterprise Chamber Directors announced that, (i) based on independent valuation analyses performed by AXECO, the Offer Price is not unreasonable from a financial point of view, (ii)  they have a neutral position in respect of the Offer Price, (iii) and having completed their assessment, they consented to the convocation of an extraordinary general meeting to approve project Rembrandt II (i.e. the transaction consisting of the proposed business combination between OCI and Orascom Construction PLC, an international construction and engineering company, domiciled in Abu Dhabi with a primary listing on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and a secondary listing on the Egyptian Exchange), subject to the condition that NNS shall have made, declared unconditional and settled the Offer. The Enterprise Chamber Directors also noted that they consider that the combination of Rembrandt II and the Offer give adequate and reasonable weight to the interests of OCI’s minority shareholders. 

OCI will publish its Position Statement containing the information required by Article 18 and Annex G of the Decree. 

Extraordinary General Meeting 

In accordance with Article 18, paragraph 1 of the Decree, OCI is required to hold the Offer EGM. Separate convocation materials with respect to the Offer EGM will be made available on OCI’s website (www.oci-global.com). Reference is made to Section 5.17 (Offer EGM) of the Offer Memorandum. 

Rationale of the Offer 

NNS is OCI’s largest shareholder, holding approximately 57.32% of OCI’s issued share capital, and together with Mr Nassef Sawiris holding approximately 57.50% as of the date hereof.[2]  

On 11 December 2025, OCI convened an extraordinary general meeting in connection with Rembrandt II, scheduled to be held on 22 January 2026. On 5 January 2026, the European Investors-VEB, a Dutch association representing the interests of mainly individual investors in the Netherlands (“VEB”), together with a group of other Shareholders, sought emergency relief from the Enterprise Chamber with the effect, among other things, of preventing the scheduled general meeting from approving the proposed Rembrandt II transaction. The Enterprise Chamber granted immediate measures (the appointment of the Enterprise Chamber Directors and the suspension of Rembrandt II) on 19 January 2026. One of the main objections raised against Rembrandt II by the applicants was that no cash exit option was offered to shareholders of OCI who did not want, or could not obtain, shares in Orascom through Rembrandt II. In an effort to constructively help navigate a satisfactory solution so that the company could move forward, NNS, supported by Mr Nassef Sawiris, decided to provide such a cash exit alternative. In this regard, NNS submitted an initial proposal on 11 May 2026 to the Board of OCI to acquire all issued and outstanding Shares. By 24 June 2026, the Board of OCI had not yet reached a decision regarding this proposal. To break the impasse surrounding OCI and Rembrandt II and provide Shareholders with a cash exit alternative, NNS decided to launch the Offer without the cooperation of the Board at that time. By doing so, NNS aims to provide all Shareholders with a guaranteed cash exit opportunity as an alternative to waiting for a possible resolution of the uncertainty surrounding Rembrandt II and OCI. The Offer reflects NNS’ continued commitment, as OCI’s largest shareholder, to all stakeholders of the Company. 

NNS and Nassef Sawiris have been the major shareholders of OCI since its formation and remain highly committed to the Company. They both continue to support Rembrandt II and believe in the strategic rationale and synergy benefits that a combination between OCI and Orascom can offer. They both remain convinced that the management team will generate attractive returns on the investment (being both its existing shareholding and any incremental shareholding acquired pursuant to the Offer) in the business. 

Indicative timetable 

Offer Period 

The Offer Period begins at 09:00 hours CEST on 15 September 2026 and ends at 17:40 hours CET on 17 November 2026, unless extended in accordance with Article 15 of the Decree and the provisions of the Offer Memorandum. Shares tendered on or prior to the Tender Closing Date may not be withdrawn, subject to the right of withdrawal of any tender during an extension of the Offer Period in accordance with the provisions of Article 15, paragraph 3 of the Decree. NNS reserves the right to extend the Offer Period once, for a minimum of two weeks and up to a maximum of ten weeks. If the Offer Period is extended, NNS will make an announcement to that effect no later than on the third Business Day following the Tender Closing Date in accordance with the provisions of Article 15, paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of the Decree. 

Acceptance by Shareholders 

Holders of Shares which are held through an Admitted Institution are requested to make their acceptance known via their custodian, bank or stockbroker no later than 17:40 hours CET on the Tender Closing Date, unless the Offer Period is extended in accordance with Section 4.5 (Extension) of the Offer Memorandum. The relevant custodian, bank or stockbroker may set an earlier deadline for communication by Shareholders in order to permit the custodian, bank or stockbroker to communicate their acceptance to ABN AMRO in a timely manner. 

In submitting an acceptance, the Admitted Institutions are required to submit a statement to the Settlement Agent containing the name and the number of Shares for all instances in which Shareholders tender more than 100,000 Shares. 

Extension 

If one or more of the Offer Conditions set out in Section 5.5.1 (Offer Conditions) is not satisfied or waived in accordance with the arrangement set out in Section 5.5.2 (Waiver), on the initial or any subsequent Tender Closing Date, NNS may extend the Offer Period once for a period of no less than two weeks and no more than ten weeks, subject to the provisions of Article 15 of the Decree or pursuant to an exemption by the AFM. 

If one or more of the Offer Conditions is not satisfied or waived in accordance with the arrangement set out in Section 5.5.2 (Waiver) on the extended Tender Closing Date, NNS may subject to receipt of an exemption granted by the AFM, extend the extended Offer Period for such additional periods of time as NNS reasonably believes are necessary to cause such Offer Conditions to be satisfied or waived. 

Declaring the Offer unconditional  

The obligation of NNS to declare the Offer unconditional (gestand doen) is subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the Offer Conditions. Reference is made to Section 5.5.1 (Offer Conditions) of the Offer Memorandum. The Offer Conditions may be waived, to the extent permitted by Law, as set out in Section 5.5.2 (Waiver) of the Offer Memorandum. If any Offer Condition is waived in accordance with Section 5.5.2 (Waiver) of the Offer Memorandum, NNS will inform the Shareholders as required by the applicable rules. 

On the Unconditional Date (i.e. no later than the third Business Day following the Tender Closing Date), NNS will determine whether the Offer Conditions have been satisfied or waived as set out in Section 5.5.1 (Offer Conditions) of the Offer Memorandum, to the extent permitted by applicable Law. In addition, NNS will announce on the Unconditional Date whether (i) the Offer is declared unconditional (gestand is gedaan); (ii) the Offer Period will be extended in accordance with Article 15 of the Decree; or (iii) the Offer is terminated as a result of the Offer Conditions set out in Section 5.5.1 (Offer Conditions) of the Offer Memorandum not having been satisfied or waived, all in accordance with Section 5.5.2 (Waiver) of the Offer Memorandum and Section 5.5.3 (Satisfaction) of the Offer Memorandum and Article 16 of the Decree. In the event that the Offer is not declared unconditional (niet gestand is gedaan), NNS will explain such decision. 

In the event that NNS declares the Offer unconditional (gestand wordt gedaan), NNS will accept all Tendered Shares and will decide to have and announce a Post-Closing Acceptance Period as set out in Section 4.8 (Post-Closing Acceptance Period) of the Offer Memorandum of up to two weeks to enable Shareholders who did not tender their Shares during the Offer Period to tender their Shares during the Post-Closing Acceptance Period under the same terms and conditions as the Offer. 

Settlement 

In the event that NNS announces that the Offer is declared unconditional (gestand is gedaan), NNS will make the payment of the Offer Price to the Shareholders having tendered their Shares for acceptance no later than on the Settlement Date in respect of each Tendered and Delivered Share on the terms and subject to the conditions and restrictions of the Offer. NNS cannot guarantee that Shareholders will receive the payment within such period. 

Post-Closing Acceptance Period 

If NNS declares the Offer unconditional (gestand wordt gedaan), it will, in accordance with Article 17 of the Decree, announce a Post-Closing Acceptance Period within three Business Days after such declaration. This Post-Closing Acceptance Period may last up to two weeks and enables Shareholders who did not tender their Shares during the Offer Period to do so under the same terms and conditions as the Offer. 

NNS will publicly announce the results, including the total amount and percentage of Shares held by it, no later than the third Business Day following the last day of such period, in accordance with Article 17, paragraph 4 of the Decree. NNS shall accept all Shares tendered during the Post-Closing Acceptance Period. 

Shareholders who tender their Shares during a Post-Closing Acceptance Period have no right to withdraw such Shares. Payment of the Offer Price for each Share tendered (geleverd) during a Post-Closing Acceptance Period will be made no later than the fourth Business Day after expiration of that period. 

As of the relevant settlement date, revocation (herroeping), dissolution (ontbinding) or annulment (vernietiging) of the tendering, sale or transfer (levering) of any Share tendered during a Post-Closing Acceptance Period is not possible. 

Statutory Buy-Out Proceedings and Other Post-Closing Restructuring Measures 

If, following the Settlement Date, NNS (i) holds at least 95% of the Shares (calculated in accordance with the DCC), NNS may commence a compulsory acquisition procedure (uitkoopprocedure) in accordance with section 2:92a or 2:201a of the DCC; or (ii) hold (A) at least 95% of the Shares, and (B) at least 95% of the voting rights in respect of the Shares (calculated in accordance with the DCC), NNS may commence the takeover buy-out procedure in accordance with section 2:359c of the DCC to buy out the remaining holders of Shares (the procedures under (i) and (ii) collectively, the “Statutory Buy-Out Proceedings”). Any Statutory Buy-Out Proceedings are expected only to be considered by NNS in the event that Rembrandt II cannot be implemented for whatever reason. 

NNS expects that Rembrandt II will be implemented following settlement of the Offer. By launching the Offer, NNS facilitates the implementation of Rembrandt II by providing Shareholders with the opportunity to elect a cash exit in respect of their Shares prior to the implementation of Rembrandt II, rather than becoming shareholders of Orascom. 

If Rembrandt II cannot be implemented for any reason, NNS may, following the Settlement Date, effect, or cause to be effected, any other restructuring of the Company for the purpose of achieving an optimal operational, legal, financial and/or fiscal structure in accordance with applicable laws, some of which may have the effect of diluting the interest of any remaining minority Shareholders (the “Other Post-Closing Restructuring Measures”). These may include, among other things, an issue of shares by the Company, a sale and transfer of assets and liabilities, a statutory legal merger or demerger, a conversion of the Company into a private limited company, a subsequent public offer, a distribution of proceeds, cash and/or assets to Shareholders, transactions aimed at utilising available tax loss carry forwards, changes to the dividend policy, or any combination thereof. 

In the implementation of any Other Post-Closing Restructuring Measures, due consideration will be given to the requirements of applicable laws, including the requirement to consider the interests of all stakeholders including any minority Shareholders, and the requirement for the members of the Board to form their independent view on the relevant matter. 

Liquidity and Delisting 

The purchase of Shares by NNS pursuant to the Offer can reduce the number of Shareholders, as well as the number of Shares that might otherwise be traded publicly. As a result, the liquidity and market value of the Shares that were not tendered under the Offer, or were tendered and validly withdrawn, may be adversely affected. NNS does not intend to compensate for such adverse effect by, for example, setting up a liquidity mechanism for the Shares that are not tendered following the Settlement Date and the expiration of the Post-Closing Acceptance Period. 

If NNS acquires 95% or more of the Shares, it will be able to procure delisting of the Shares from Euronext Amsterdam in accordance with the Euronext listing rules and policy. In the event that OCI will no longer be listed, the provisions applicable to the governance of listed companies will no longer apply and the rights of remaining minority shareholders may be limited to statutory minimum. 

Non-Tender Undertakings 

NNS has entered into irrevocable non-tender undertakings (the “Non-Tender Undertakings”) with certain members of the Sawiris family who hold Shares (each a “Non-Tendering Shareholder”), together holding 19,167,618 Shares, representing approximately 9.07% of OCI’s issued share capital. 

Pursuant to the Non-Tender Undertakings, each Non-Tendering Shareholder has irrevocably undertaken to NNS not to tender or deliver any of its Shares under the Offer, including any Shares acquired between the date of the relevant Non-Tender Undertaking and the expiry of the Offer Period.

Bisogna neutralizzare preventivamente tutto questo, io ci sto lavorando. Bisogna entrare in una prospettiva in cui nessuno abbia la possibilità di esercitare un potere ricattatorio. Nessuno abbia la possibilità di poter condizionare gli obiettivi strategici che dobbiamo raggiungere”.

Vale molto la capacità personale di instaurare rapporti, parlare nei summit, cercare di orientare le scelte. Dobbiamo scrivere prima delle primarie un programma condiviso. Ma non si risolvono le questioni. C’è sempre l’impronta personale.

Su Ucraina è chiaro che dovremo preventivamente precisare qualche punto fermo, perché non può essere che domattina vinca Schlein o addirittura un altro candidato e a quel punto si mandano a go gò armi a Kiev per una escalation militare, che ci sta portando al terzo conflitto mondiale giorno dopo giorno. Questo, lo ripeto, lo chiariremo va preventivamente chiarito e precisato.

The hackathon attracted about 1,200 applicants from over 25 countries, with about 250 advanced to the final round. 90 per cent of finalists expressed stronger interest in Hong Kong and GBA Mainland citiesafter taking part. About 20 winning talent visited Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou to meet investors, incubators, research institutes and industry leaders.

The delegation toured Cyberport, Hong Kong Science Park, Hong Kong–Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, and Northern Metropolis to gain an in-depth understanding of Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem and development opportunities, and support measures for talent and enterprise incubation.  

In Qianhai of Shenzhen and Nansha of Guangzhou, delegates met local I&T organisations and enterprises to explore industrial applications in AI, robotics, smart transport and biotechnology, showcasing how Hong Kong can help overseas innovators connect with GBA opportunities and turn thoughts into action.

Arezzo – 14 settembre 2026. Nell’alta pelletteria e nella gioielleria contemporanea, il metallo non è più soltanto un elemento di finitura. Può definire la silhouette di una borsa, trasformare una chiusura in un segno riconoscibile, determinare il modo in cui la luce attraversa una superficie o influenzare la percezione tattile dell’oggetto. 

Il suo valore non dipende quindi dalla sola presenza del materiale, né dalla brillantezza o dal colore. Nasce dall’incontro tra forma, funzione, trattamento superficiale e comportamento nell’uso. È in questa zona di confine che pelletteria e gioielleria iniziano a condividere linguaggi, competenze e criteri progettuali. 

Fibbie, catene, lucchetti, chiusure e moschettoni sono stati a lungo descritti con il termine generico di hardware, quasi fossero una categoria tecnica separata dal progetto principale. Nella produzione di alta gamma, tuttavia, questi elementi possono avere un peso decisivo sulla riconoscibilità e sull’esperienza d’uso del prodotto. 

Una chiusura non serve soltanto ad aprire e chiudere una borsa. La sua geometria può organizzare il fronte dell’oggetto, creare un punto focale e diventare un codice visivo ripetuto nel tempo. È il caso di componenti nei quali il simbolo del marchio coincide con il meccanismo stesso, senza apparire come un’applicazione aggiunta in un secondo momento. 

Anche la relazione tra metallo e pelle richiede una progettazione congiunta. Una chiusura curva, una cornice rigida o una catena utilizzata come manico modificano il comportamento della struttura e la sua percezione. Peso, proporzioni, allineamento e fluidità del movimento incidono quanto la resa estetica. 

Alcuni aspetti decisivi sono difficili da cogliere in fotografia: la resistenza di un meccanismo, il suono prodotto dalla chiusura, la precisione con cui le parti si incontrano, la sensazione restituita dal componente quando viene manipolato. Sono caratteristiche che non hanno bisogno di essere vistose per comunicare qualità. Al contrario, spesso funzionano proprio perché sembrano naturali e prive di sforzo. 

Il metallo diventa così una parte strutturale del linguaggio dell’oggetto. Non necessariamente più complessa o più grande, ma più integrata nel disegno complessivo. 

Parlare genericamente di metallo è però insufficiente. Il lettore e l’utilizzatore non percepiscono una lega in astratto: percepiscono una superficie, con un determinato colore, una certa riflessione e una specifica risposta al tatto. 

Una finitura lucida enfatizza bordi, curvature e contrasti. Una superficie satinata riduce i riflessi netti e può rendere più uniforme il volume. Le lavorazioni spazzolate evidenziano una direzione, mentre quelle brunite o opache possono attenuare l’effetto ornamentale e avvicinare il componente a un linguaggio più tecnico. 

Non esiste una gerarchia assoluta tra queste soluzioni. Una superficie più brillante non è necessariamente più preziosa, così come una finitura opaca non è automaticamente più contemporanea. Il risultato dipende dal rapporto con la pelle, con le pietre, con gli smalti e con gli altri materiali presenti nell’oggetto. 

Il colore visibile, inoltre, non coincide sempre con il materiale di base. Un componente può essere realizzato in ottone, acciaio o alluminio e assumere successivamente tonalità dorate, nere, grigie o bronzate attraverso rivestimenti e lavorazioni specifiche. Distinguere il substrato dalla superficie è importante perché permette di comprendere che l’aspetto finale deriva da una sequenza di decisioni, non dalla sola scelta iniziale del metallo. 

La coerenza rappresenta un’altra questione centrale. Componenti diversi per forma, dimensione o funzione devono apparire uniformi quando appartengono allo stesso prodotto. Una minima variazione di tono tra una fibbia, un anello e una catena può alterare la percezione dell’insieme. Per questo la superficie non dovrebbe essere considerata un intervento conclusivo, ma una vera materia di progetto. 

Quando una componente metallica viene toccata, sfregata, aperta e chiusa ripetutamente, l’aspetto non può essere separato dal comportamento nell’uso. La finitura deve rispondere a esigenze cromatiche precise, ma anche mantenere caratteristiche adeguate al tipo di oggetto e alle sollecitazioni previste. 

In questo ambito trovano applicazione anche i trattamenti PVD, acronimo di Physical Vapor Deposition. Il termine indica una famiglia di processi attraverso i quali un materiale viene trasformato in vapore in un ambiente controllato e successivamente depositato sul substrato sotto forma di film sottile. 

L’interesse di queste tecnologie per le applicazioni decorative risiede nella possibilità di intervenire sulla tonalità e sulle proprietà superficiali del componente. A seconda della composizione del rivestimento e dei parametri di deposizione, è possibile ottenere colori e livelli di durezza differenti. Il PVD non va però presentato come una soluzione universale o come una garanzia automatica di qualità. 

Il risultato dipende dall’intero sistema. Contano il materiale di base, la preparazione della superficie, gli eventuali strati intermedi, lo spessore, l’adesione e la geometria del pezzo. Su alcuni substrati possono essere necessari rivestimenti preliminari con funzione livellante o protettiva prima della deposizione finale. 

Anche la resistenza deve essere descritta con precisione. Un rivestimento PVD può migliorare, in determinate configurazioni, la durezza superficiale e la resistenza all’usura rispetto ad altre soluzioni, ma non rende il metallo immune da graffi, urti o abrasioni. Allo stesso modo, non è corretto sostenere che sia sempre superiore ai trattamenti galvanici: le due tecnologie possono rispondere a esigenze diverse e, in alcuni casi, essere utilizzate nello stesso sistema. 

La sigla PVD, da sola, non dice quindi quanto durerà una finitura. La qualità reale emerge dal modo in cui il trattamento è stato progettato, applicato e validato sul componente finito. È questo passaggio, più che il nome della tecnologia, a fare la differenza tra un effetto cromatico convincente e una superficie realmente coerente con l’uso previsto. 

La convergenza tra alta pelletteria e gioielleria diventa evidente quando il componente metallico non si limita a sostenere o chiudere l’oggetto, ma assume un valore figurativo e simbolico. 

Alcuni motivi nati nell’orologeria o nella gioielleria vengono trasferiti alle borse e trasformati in chiusure, catene o elementi strutturali. Una testa di serpente, un lucchetto, una maglia o una montatura possono funzionare contemporaneamente come meccanismo e firma visiva. In questi casi il metallo non decora un prodotto già definito: contribuisce a costruirne l’identità. 

Anche la catena può superare il ruolo di semplice tracolla. Il ritmo delle maglie, il diametro, il peso e la mobilità diventano scelte progettuali vicine a quelle di un gioiello destinato al corpo. Allo stesso tempo, gioielli contemporanei adottano forme derivate da fibbie, cerniere, moschettoni e altri componenti industriali. 

Questa contaminazione non elimina le differenze tra i due settori. Una chiusura per pelletteria deve sostenere l’uso ripetuto, interagire con una struttura flessibile e rispettare vincoli di peso e comfort. Un gioiello risponde ad altri requisiti, legati al contatto con il corpo, alla montatura e al valore dei materiali. 

Il punto di incontro non è quindi una generica preziosità, ma un metodo comune: trattare il metallo come un elemento capace di integrare funzione, superficie e riconoscibilità. Il suo fascino non risiede soltanto nella luce che riflette, ma nella precisione con cui riesce a dare forma all’oggetto e al modo in cui viene usato.

FIRENZE – L’estate 2026 entra di diritto nella storia climatica della Toscana con numeri che superano perfino la storica e torrida stagione del 2003. A delineare il quadro di un’estate da record sono le rilevazioni elaborate dal Consorzio Lamma, che ha messo a confronto le temperature registrate nei dieci capoluoghi di provincia toscani con i dati di 23 anni fa.

La temperatura media delle massime registrata sul territorio regionale ha raggiunto i 33,2 gradi, superando, seppur di un soffio, il valore di 33,1 gradi rilevato nel 2003. L’anomalia termica rispetto al trentennio di riferimento 1991-2020 si è attestata su valori compresi tra i +3 e i +4 gradi, con scostamenti ancora più marcati che hanno oltrepassato i 4 gradi nell’area nord-occidentale della regione. Il divario si amplifica ulteriormente se si allarga lo sguardo allo storico 1955-2026: in questo intervallo, l’estate appena trascorsa mostra un incremento di 3,5 gradi per quanto riguarda le massime e di 2,7 gradi per le minime.

L’analisi della distribuzione delle temperature rivela una concentrazione di calore estremo senza precedenti. Nel corso del 2026 i giorni con valori massimi superiori ai 35 gradi sono stati ben 31, ben quattordici in più rispetto alla stagione del 2003. Il fenomeno risulta particolarmente evidente nel capoluogo fiorentino, dove si sono contati 57 giorni con picchi oltre i 35 gradi (contro i 48 del 2003) e ben 25 giornate con temperature superiori ai 38 gradi, dato che più che raddoppia i 12 giorni registrati 23 anni fa.

Contestualmente, le rilevazioni del Lamma mostrano una flessione delle giornate complessive con massime sopra i 30 gradi, scese da 88 a 79, e un calo delle notti tropicali, passate dalle 62 del 2003 alle 49 dell’ultima stagione estiva.

VENEZIA LIDO, 14/09/2026 – Si è conclusa la ricca rassegna di incontri, proiezioni ed eventi firmata da Giffoni Innovation Hub. Un punto di riferimento consolidato, un luogo dove l’industria cinematografica, le istituzioni, le aziende e i giovani talenti si sono incontrati per far dialogare il cinema con la cultura e l’impegno sociale. Anche quest’anno la dimensione glamour dell’83º Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia si è intrecciata con il desiderio di approfondire temi cruciali come l’identità dei territori, l’accessibilità e la cura, registrando una straordinaria affluenza di pubblico con oltre 3.000 richieste di partecipazione raccolte nel corso della manifestazione. 

Ad aprire la rassegna è stato l’Unconventional Excellence Awards, evento esclusivo curato da Forbes Italia con all’interno il riconoscimento speciale Giffoni Hub che celebra artisti, talenti e professionisti dell’entertainment distintisi per progetti non convenzionali e ad alto impatto sociale. In questo contesto, il premio speciale di Forbes e Giffoni Hub è stato conferito ai Bellamorèa (i fratelli Emanuele e Francesco Bunetto) per la straordinaria capacità di fare della musica uno strumento di costruzione civile, memoria storica e riscatto sociale, voce degli ultimi e fonte d’ispirazione per i giovani. 

La prestigiosa villa ha ospitato l’anteprima ufficiale di Il Tetto del Mondo, il documentario diretto da Niccolò Donatini e realizzato nell’ambito di Avventure in Primo Piano, il progetto documentaristico di Avventure nel Mondo e Giffoni Hub. Il film segue una spedizione motociclistica off-road attraverso il Pamir, nel cuore dell’Asia centrale, tra altopiani a 4.500 metri, paesaggi estremi e villaggi isolati, mettendo al centro non solo la destinazione, ma il valore stesso dell’esperienza del viaggio. Un racconto che ripropone la distinzione tra viaggiatore e turista e restituisce il senso di un’avventura in territori ancora lontani dai percorsi convenzionali, come quelli che le popolazioni locali chiamano Bam-i-Dunya, il “Tetto del Mondo”. L’anteprima, accompagnata dal talk con il regista Niccolò Donatini, il coordinatore del viaggio Pierfrancesco Barba e la direttrice marketing di Avventure nel Mondo Camilla Filippone, ha registrato il sold out. 

Al centro della rassegna anche l’appuntamento firmato Rivista Studio, con il talk Il cinema dell’appartenenza, dedicato al rapporto tra cinema, identità e territorio. Protagonisti i registi di tre cortometraggi presentati alla Mostra: Tommaso Acquatore, autore di Angelo Azzurro, in concorso nella sezione Orizzonti; Sara Scalera, regista di Puca; e Antonio Casanegra, autore di Animali Domestici. Un confronto sul cinema breve come strumento per raccontare il senso di appartenenza e il percorso di formazione, attraverso storie in cui provincia e adolescenza diventano luoghi da cui partire e talvolta a cui tornare per trovare il proprio posto nel mondo.  

Spazio anche al panel di Alfiere Productions di Daniele Urciuolo con WeShort, moderato da Rossella Vitolo e dedicato al cineturismo e al suo impatto sul territorio italiano, con direttori di festival nazionali, un ricordo di Ninni Panzera, i premi Eccellenza Made in Italy ad aziende come Frigerio Viaggi e Terra delle Marche, e l’intermezzo musicale di Il Solito Dandy e Gabrièla.
 

Il tema dei territori è tornato con l’anteprima del cortometraggio Piccolo Vuoto, diretto da Elio Di Pace e nato dal progetto La voce dei giovani: La Villacidro che vorrei, realizzato in collaborazione con la Fondazione Dessì e la Regione Sardegna. Un progetto che dà voce alle aspirazioni e ai progetti della comunità giovanile di Villacidro, mettendo in dialogo cinema, arti e istituzioni come strumenti capaci di accompagnare la crescita sociale e culturale dei territori. Al centro del corto, il destino di un giovane protagonista e quello di una piccola capretta, entrambi considerati troppo fragili per farcela, ma accomunati dalla stessa ostinata volontà di crescere e prendersi il proprio spazio nel mondo. 

La rassegna ha ospitato la proiezione de Il filo di Arianna, documentario di Donatella Romani e Roberto Amato, prodotto da Telomero Produzioni con il patrocinio di ANTURE e il contributo non condizionante di Ipsen. Attraverso la voce e il volto dell’attrice Giuliana De Sio, l’opera racconta il percorso umano e scientifico di pazienti, caregiver e medici che convivono con il tumore del rene patologia che in Italia riguarda oltre 154 mila persone. Alla proiezione è seguito un dibattito con clinici ed esperti sul valore dell’ascolto e dell’innovazione medico-scientifica. 

Spazio anche a Il mio nuovo mondo: l’audiovisivo al servizio della cura e delle patologie rare, di Donatella Romani e Roberto Amato, docufilm già trasmesso su LA7 e disponibile su Amazon Prime Video, realizzato con il contributo non condizionante di Chiesi Italia, seguito da una tavola rotonda con clinici, istituzioni e associazioni pazienti dedicata alle malattie respiratorie e patologie rare. 

Giffoni Hub inoltre ha scelto Ogyre come Sustainability Partner, unendo il potere del cinema a un impegno concreto per la tutela dell’Oceano attraverso il supporto a una campagna per la raccolta di 3.000 kg di rifiuti marini e costieri insieme a pescatori e comunità locali in Italia, Brasile, Indonesia e Senegal.

A dieci anni dall’approvazione della legge 166 contro lo spreco alimentare, Confcooperative Toscana lancia la proposta per l’introduzione di una normativa regionale dedicata alla prevenzione e al contrasto del fenomeno. La richiesta è stata formulata dal presidente dell’associazione, Alberto Grilli, durante l’incontro “La Toscana non (si) butta via”, organizzato a Firenze negli spazi del Fuligno per fare il punto sui risultati e sulle prospettive della legge nazionale.

All’evento hanno preso parte diversi rappresentanti istituzionali e operatori del settore, tra cui la deputata Maria Chiara Gadda, promotrice della normativa approvata il 14 settembre 2016, la presidente del Consiglio regionale toscano Stefania Saccardi e il presidente nazionale di Confcooperative Agroalimentare e Pesca, Raffaele Drei. Tra i partecipanti figuravano anche Andrea Segrè, direttore scientifico dell’Osservatorio internazionale Waste Watcher, Francesca Galli dell’Università di Pisa, Fiamma Tofanari del Consiglio del Cibo di Livorno, Leonardo Berni del Banco Alimentare toscano e Massimo Masi per Conad Nord Ovest.

Secondo Grilli, la legge nazionale ha cambiato il paradigma trasformando il recupero delle eccedenze in una pratica strutturata. Tuttavia, alla luce delle conoscenze acquisite, l’associazione ritiene necessario un aggiornamento degli strumenti. “Recuperare ciò che avanza è fondamentale, ma dobbiamo intervenire prima che l’eccedenza si produca”, ha spiegato il presidente regionale, sottolineando l’importanza di rendere il sistema di recupero più sostenibile, affrontando i problemi legati alla logistica e ai costi di trasporto. In quest’ottica, una legge regionale servirebbe a mettere a sistema la rete territoriale formata da Banco Alimentare, Caritas, distribuzione e comparto agricolo.

La presidente del Consiglio regionale, Stefania Saccardi, ha condiviso la necessità di un’azione strutturale: “La Toscana ha costruito in questi anni una rete importante: ora dobbiamo trasformare questa esperienza in una politica sempre più strutturale, capace di unire sostenibilità, valorizzazione delle risorse e contrasto alla povertà alimentare”.

Sul bilancio del decennio è intervenuto Raffaele Drei, che ha evidenziato il contributo del settore cooperativo. In base ai dati di Confcooperative, nell’ultimo decennio le imprese associate hanno ridotto del 30% gli sprechi nelle fasi produttive. Un ruolo trainante è stato assunto dal comparto ortofrutticolo, tra le realtà più attive nelle donazioni.

Per la deputata Maria Chiara Gadda, la legge mantiene la sua attualità a fronte della crescita dei bisogni sociali. Il testo normativo continua a evolversi: un aggiornamento dell’agosto 2026 ha esteso le possibilità di recupero anche a piante e fiori. La parlamentare ha concluso richiamando l’attenzione sulle questioni logistiche: “Celle frigorifere, mezzi, contenitori e costi di trasporto sono indispensabili per garantire che ciò che viene donato mantenga qualità e dignità. La legge 166 e tutte le sue integrazioni sono state votate all’unanimità dal Parlamento: per questo mi aspetto che nella prossima legge di bilancio si approvi la mia proposta, sostenendo concretamente chi dona e chi recupera”.

LUCCA – Un uomo di 49 anni è stato arrestato in flagranza di reato nel centro storico di Lucca con l’accusa di estorsione. L’intervento delle forze dell’ordine è scattato all’interno di un’attività commerciale, nel momento esatto in cui l’indagato, già noto alle autorità, incassava una somma di denaro dal titolare del negozio sotto la minaccia di ritorsioni.

L’operazione è stata condotta dai militari del Nucleo operativo e radiomobile, supportati dalle stazioni dell’Arma di Lucca e di Ponte a Moriano. Le indagini sono partite dalla segnalazione della stessa vittima: il commerciante si era infatti rivolto ai carabinieri dopo aver ricevuto da un conoscente una richiesta indebita pari a 1.000 euro.

I militari hanno quindi organizzato un servizio di appostamento per monitorare l’incontro tra i due. Durante il confronto all’interno del locale, il 49enne ha ribadito le proprie pretese mantenendo un atteggiamento minatorio. Per cercare di allontanarlo, il negoziante ha ceduto parzialmente alla richiesta consegnandogli 250 euro. A quel punto gli investigatori, che avevano seguito l’intera scena a distanza di sicurezza, sono intervenuti bloccando l’uomo e recuperando i contanti, che sono stati immediatamente restituiti al legittimo proprietario.

Su disposizione del pubblico ministero di turno della Procura lucchese, l’arrestato è stato trasferito nella locale casa circondariale, dove si trova attualmente a disposizione dell’autorità giudiziaria.
