L’obiettivo non è solo fare memoria, ma trasformare quel primo gesto democratico in una riflessione viva sul futuro della rappresentanza e della parità.

Dopo il concerto di Fiorella Mannoia dell’1 settembre a San Giuliano Terme, il 24 settembre alle 21 sarà la volta della serata evento Senza Rossetto in programma al Nelson Mandela Forum di Firenze, un luogo scelto per il suo valore simbolico.

Closing Digital Literacy Gap Could Unlock Trillions of Dollars in Global GDP Growth

PARIS, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — More than one in three (38%) people remains offline despite being covered by mobile broadband – and a lack of digital literacy skills is often to blame, according to new research published yesterday.

The new report, “Bridging the Divide: Enhancing Digital Literacy in the AI Era,” authored by GSMA Intelligence and produced in collaboration with Huawei, identifies a digital divide impacting 3.1 billion people caused by a shortage of digital skills, user trust and AI literacy.

AI raises both access and risk

Existing industry projections suggest closing the capability gap could add around $3.5 trillion to global GDP by 2030, with more than 90% of those gains flowing to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Physical mobile broadband coverage currently reaches 96% of people worldwide.

The report, unveiled at UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week, suggests artificial intelligence could act as both a bridge and a barrier for underserved communities. AI-powered voice assistants and applications that work with images, audio and video can all help low-literacy users bypass the need to input text. At the same time, they raise the security and critical-thinking standards required to participate safely. However, the study warns that users must now be able to understand data privacy and identify risks such as fraud and deepfakes.

The research cites World Bank statistics that GenAI literacy represents the highest-value skill category, with wage premiums up to 36%, far exceeding returns for both digital and traditional AI skills.

Without targeted interventions in basic digital training, the authors warn, rapid AI adoption risks entrenching existing inequalities even in areas with full network coverage.

Mobile classrooms build skills in remote areas

Digital inclusion initiatives typically target those most at risk of digital exclusion, including rural and remote communities, children and teachers in rural schools, older people, and women and girls.

The report emphasizes the need for community-based delivery models, citing Huawei’s Skills on Wheels initiative as a field-tested example — particularly its solar-powered DigiTruck mobile classrooms, which bring hardware, rural connectivity and hands-on training, including AI literacy, to off-grid regions.

Since 2019, training courses delivered by Skills on Wheels projects have reached more than 130,000 people across 21 countries, with more people benefiting indirectly. DigiTruck trainers encourage trainees to share their new skills, which is shown to occur in practice. A report on DigiTruck by Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and Digital Economy shows that 79% of DigiTruck trainees surveyed had passed on their newly acquired digital skills to family members and peers.

Policymakers urged to treat AI literacy as core infrastructure

To bridge the usage gap, the report urges policymakers, telecom operators and technology vendors to work together and focus on four priorities：

Lavoro sommerso, uso del Pos e canone tv: pioggia di sanzioni della Finanza alle attività

FIRENZE – Oltre 350 irregolarità riscontrate su un totale di 577 interventi eseguiti tra maggio e agosto. È il bilancio del piano di controlli economico-finanziari promosso dal comando provinciale della Guardia di Finanza di Firenze lungo l’arco della stagione estiva. Un dispositivo capillare orientato dall’analisi di rischio e dall’incrocio delle banche dati, che ha permesso di indirizzare le ispezioni sui contesti con più elevate criticità a tutela di consumatori e imprese regolari.

Sul fronte della certificazione dei ricavi e dei pagamenti elettronici, i finanzieri hanno svolto 500 verifiche rilevando 314 violazioni, con sanzioni amministrative che sfiorano complessivamente i 300mila euro. Tra gli episodi emersi figura il caso di un esercente della provincia che applicava ai clienti un sovrapprezzo arbitrario sulle transazioni tramite Pos con la giustificazione di recuperare le commissioni bancarie; gli accertamenti hanno inoltre evidenziato la mancata integrazione tra il terminale di pagamento e il registratore telematico di cassa, condotta sanzionata anche ai sensi del Codice del consumo.

Particolarmente incisiva si è rivelata l’azione di contrasto al lavoro sommerso: su 48 aziende analizzate 23 sono risultate non a norma. Dei complessivi 85 lavoratori identificati nel corso dei blitz, 42 – pari a quasi la metà del totale – sono risultati impiegati completamente ‘in nero’, sprovvisti di contratti e delle tutele previdenziali e assicurative di legge. L’importo totale delle sanzioni proposte in questo ambito supera i 130mila euro.

Le verifiche delle Fiamme Gialle hanno infine riguardato il pagamento del canone radiotelevisivo speciale per le attività commerciali e ricettive, portando all’accertamento di 11 irregolarità su 29 controlli effettuati.

FIRENZE – Il vasto sistema temporalesco che ha interessato parte della Toscana durante la notte è transitato fuori regione. Nelle ultime 12 ore sono state registrate oltre 63mila fulminazioni nell’area della Toscana, mentre a Grosseto sono caduti 115 millimetri di pioggia dall’inizio dell’evento.

Le intense precipitazioni hanno provocato l’innalzamento dei livelli dei fiumi Salarco a Montepulciano e Bruna a Gavorrano, che hanno raggiunto il primo livello di guardia e risultano al momento stabili, con l’apertura del servizio di piena.

Sono oltre 200 gli interventi in corso da parte del sistema regionale di protezione civile e dei vigili del fuoco. Le principali criticità riguardano allagamenti localizzati nel Grossetano e anche a Cecina, alberi caduti e alcune frane sulle strade, con interventi per il ripristino della viabilità. A Reggello, a causa di infiltrazioni d’acqua in un edificio, è stata disposta un’evacuazione precauzionale, con la situazione in corso di risoluzione.

Nel corso dell’evento alcune persone sono state soccorse all’interno di sottopassi. La Regione raccomanda quindi la massima prudenza e ricorda di non attraversare mai un sottopasso allagato: anche pochi centimetri d’acqua possono essere sufficienti a bloccare un veicolo e mettere in pericolo chi si trova a bordo.

Tra la tarda mattinata e il pomeriggio è possibile una nuova intensificazione, con la formazione di temporali isolati localmente intensi, in particolare nelle zone interne della Toscana.

Current intramuscular respiratory vaccines have demonstrated their ability to generate strong systemic immunity and protect against severe disease. However, they generally induce limited immunity at respiratory mucosal surfaces. There is a growing body of evidence that mucosal (IgA) responses can reduce transmission at the point of entry. AdJane believes this creates an opportunity to build on established vaccination approaches, in line with the aspiration of public health bodies to reduce infection and transmission, alongside reducing severe disease.

AdJane’s strategy is to build on the systemic immunity established by intramuscular priming with an intranasal Nm-nOMV booster designed to induce complementary immunity at the respiratory mucosa. In this heterologous prime-boost approach, vaccine developers could retain the benefits, infrastructure and broad coverage of established respiratory vaccines while developing next-generation vaccination regimens that add a proprietary mucosal component.

Building on established vaccine franchises

AdJane has developed a broad intellectual property portfolio around its Nm-nOMV platform, including protection relating to the platform, manufacturing, mucosal dosing and specific vaccine applications. The company has also filed separate patent applications covering combinations of OMV technology with mRNA vaccines and respiratory vaccines.

Initial clinical support

AdJane’s recently completed Phase I study provides initial clinical support for the mucosal booster concept. In a post-hoc identified subset of participants who had previously received Pfizer and/or Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, subsequent intranasal administration of an Nm-nOMV vaccine displaying SARS-CoV-2 Spike was well tolerated and induced significant nasal IgA responses.

These observations provide initial human evidence supporting the concept of heterologous systemic priming followed by intranasal Nm-nOMV boosting. Further clinical studies will be required to establish the magnitude, durability and potential clinical relevance of the additional mucosal immune response.

While the initial clinical observations relate to individuals previously primed with COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, the White Paper explores the broader potential of the approach. Limited mucosal immunity is not unique to mRNA vaccination and is a feature of many intramuscular respiratory vaccination strategies.

Subject to further development and clinical validation, potential applications could therefore extend across COVID-19, influenza, RSV, combination respiratory vaccines and future pandemic preparedness.

The mucosal booster concept represents one application of AdJane’s broader Nm-nOMV platform. Non-compliance risks fines and market restrictions. But one question remains: who washes the millions of cups now circulating through Europe’s economy?

The EU generated 79.7 million tonnes of packaging waste in 2023 — 177.8 kg per citizen. Only 42.1% of plastic packaging was recycled. Global disposable cup demand will reach 491 billion units by 2028. The UK consumes 7 million cups daily, producing 30,000 tonnes of waste annually.
