SHANGHAI and MOLNDAL, Sweden, July 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Suzhou Ribo Life Science Co., Ltd.  (06938.HK) and its subsidiary Ribocure Pharmaceuticals AB (collectively referred to as “Ribo”) today announce at China Pharmaceutical Innovation Conference (CPIC) in Shanghai, the positive results from a Phase 2a study in Europe evaluating vortosiran (RBD4059), Ribo’s siRNA therapy targeting coagulation Factor XI (FXI), in patients with chronic coronary artery disease (CAD).   

The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study demonstrated that vortosiran in patients receiving standard of care, aspirin, treatment was generally well tolerated and achieved profound, dose-dependent, and long-lasting suppression of FXI activity (NCT06717074, clinicaltrials.gov). Patients with chronic CAD with previous myocardial infarction on aspirin were investigated in the current trial. Patients completing the high dose group vortosiran dosing regimen, at a maintenance dose of 400mg, achieved a mean maximum reduction in FXI activity of 92%, which sustained for several months following dosing. This data supports every three to six months dosing in various indications. 

The degree of FXI inhibition is markedly greater than that estimated for e.g. the ongoing small molecule programs, typically dosed once or twice daily, currently in Phase 3 clinical development. 

Importantly, no treatment-related serious adverse events, major bleeding events, or clinically relevant non-major bleeding events were observed. 

These findings provide the world’s first clinical proof-of-concept for siRNA-mediated FXI suppression in patients with coronary artery disease, supporting the potential of vortosiran as a differentiated, long-acting antithrombotic therapy. By targeting FXI, vortosiran aims to reduce thrombotic risk while preserving hemostasis, potentially addressing a major unmet need in cardiovascular disease.

These Phase 2a data, generated in the target patient population on top of standard of care, reinforce our belief that vortosiran is a safe and highly differentiated FXI-inhibition approach for thromboembolic diseases. CAMAIORE – Ricevevano dagli enti pubblici ogni possibile sussidio di sostegno al reddito e persino l’assegnazione gratuita dell’ombrellone allo stabilimento balneare comunale di Camaiore, ma vivevano in una villa da 1500 euro al mese a due passi dal mare e gestivano società in Svizzera e Gran Bretagna. A scoprire il maxi raggiro ai danni dello Stato sono stati i finanzieri del Ccomando Provinciale di Lucca, che al termine di una riservata indagine coordinata dalla Procura della Repubblica di Massa hanno denunciato una coppia residente a Camaiore per indebita percezione di erogazioni pubbliche.

Nei guai sono finiti una donna extracomunitaria e il convivente, un uomo originario dell’hinterland napoletano. I due, pur risultando completamente sconosciuti al fisco fin dal 2019 e autocertificando ai vari uffici un grave stato di indigenza economica, sono finiti nel mirino dei militari della Sezione pperativa delgGruppo della Guardia di Finanza di Viareggio.

L’attività di monitoraggio incrociata tra le erogazioni assistenziali e gli indicatori oggettivi di ricchezza – come le proprietà, i contratti d’affitto e lo stile di vita mostrato anche sui social – ha subito evidenziato una palese anomalia: la coppia risiedeva infatti in una villa posizionata ad appena 700 metri dalla passeggiata a mare di Lido di Camaiore, pagando un canone mensile di ben 1500 euro.

Gli approfondimenti svolti attraverso l’analisi delle banche dati, delle fonti aperte e dei flussi finanziari hanno permesso di accertare che i due erano in realtà titolari di diverse società estere operanti nel settore del supporto alle imprese, con sede in Svizzera e in Gran Bretagna. Dall’esame dei conti correnti è emerso che negli ultimi cinque anni la coppia aveva trasferito dai conti svizzeri a quelli italiani qualcosa come 200mila euro in contanti.

Un patrimonio occultato che ha consentito loro di fare incetta di aiuti pubblici destinati alle famiglie indigenti: 41.226 euro incassati sotto forma di assegni sociali, 3.252 euro percepiti attraverso varie richieste di reddito di cittadinanza, 1.359 euro di esenzione dalla TARI, 1.922 euro di “buoni mensa scolastica” e persino l’assegnazione del “posto ombra” gratuito in spiaggia per ben quattro stagioni estive consecutive, per un valore commerciale stimato in 6.000 euro.

A conclusione delle indagini, i due sono stati denunciati alla procura di Massa per le ipotesi di reato previste dall’articolo 316-ter del codice penale (indebita percezione di erogazioni a danno dello Stato per gli assegni sociali) e dall’articolo 7 del decreto legge 4/2019 relativamente alle indebite richieste del reddito di cittadinanza. Contestualmente, la Guardia di Finanza ha avviato le segnalazioni agli enti erogatori per far scattare le procedure di revoca dei benefici e il recupero integrale delle somme sottratte alla collettività.

ICMM report maps where mining and metals facilities intersect with water stress, depletion, drought, flood and interannual variability risks 

LONDON, July 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Nearly two-thirds of mining and metals facilities worldwide are located in areas facing significant physical water risk, according to new analysis by ICMM. 

Our Global Mining and Metals Water Dataset and report, also reveal that competition for water between mining and metals operations and other industrial and domestic users is the greatest physical water risk facing the industry. It highlights the importance of coordinated integrated land and water use planning at regional scales, as demand grows for the materials needed for clean energy systems. 

Minerals and metals are essential to the energy transition and the low-carbon economy of the future, but this analysis shows that the conditions needed to produce them are constrained by physical water risks. 

Key findings include: 

The analysis found that water risk in mining and metals is global in scope but diverse in nature, differing according to geography and commodity. Some facilities face chronic competition for water; others face drought, flooding, or unpredictable annual supply. In some regions and supply chains, these risks overlap, creating vulnerabilities that must be addressed at through water stewardship and coordinated action across governments, industry, investors and the companies that use these materials. 

Commenting on the findings, ICMM’s Director of Data and Research, Dr Emma Gagen, said: 

“Our research shows that water is already a material issue for the mining and metals sector. If water risk exposure is not better understood and managed across the wider economy, we risk sleepwalking into a major constraint on the energy transition. This is why leading mining companies including ICMM members have embedded water stewardship principles and practices, to manage water in ways that are socially equitable, environmentally sustainable and economically beneficial.” 

The findings show that water risk exposure is not evenly distributed across the sector. In Chile, the world’s largest copper producer and home to a significant share of global lithium reserves, 85.8% of facilities face high or extremely high baseline water stress and interannual variability at the same time. In Africa and the Middle East, 80.7% of facilities are exposed to high or very high drought risk, while in Oceania, 74% face high or extremely high interannual variability in water supply.

“Until now, there has been no comprehensive, cross-commodity global assessment of how the mining and metals sector is exposed to water risk. By developing credible and accessible data, ICMM aims to support more informed decision-making by policymakers and investors on water risk exposure, helping to manage the demand created by the energy transition. 

“This dataset is a starting point for others to explore, use and collaborate with us to continue improving the collective picture of water risk across the industry.” 

The report draws on ICMM’s updated Global Mining Dataset (v1.5) of 12,000 facilities – including mines, smelters, refineries and plants – and overlays facility locations with global water-risk datasets to assess exposure to selected physical water quantity risks. The Global Mining and Metals Water Dataset was produced in partnership with the WWF’s Water Risk Team and the World Resources Institute (WRI).

The data focuses on water risks and does not provide any information on the impacts or contribution of mining and metals to water risks. It is an intersectional analysis between a global mining and metal layer and global water risk layers. There are no global datasets on facility-level water consumption, withdrawals, discharge quantities or qualities to allow assessments of impact and contribution at this stage. In addition, the dataset does not include data on facility-level or company level impacts or contributions to local water systems, nor does it attempt to assess operational performance, efficiency or progress against corporate targets. As such, the dataset should not be used to benchmark individual assets or companies, or to draw conclusions about the alignment of individual corporate disclosures with sector-level results.

Datasets from WWF and WRI were selected for their wide recognition and comprehensive coverage of water risk. Each offers distinct strengths and limitations, and ICMM assessed both to identify the most relevant indicators for inclusion in the Global Mining and Metals Water Dataset. 

We also partnered with an independent peer reviewer to understand the limitations and strengths of our methodology, datasets used, and insights. This helped to refine our approach and data, ultimately strengthening our approach while being transparent with our limitations.

MONACO, July 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The newly-created Team PRONC has officially signed up to the 2027 UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF – the world’s first all-electric raceboat competition. 

The signing, made during the E1 Monaco 2026 race at the world-renowned Yacht Club de Monaco that took place last weekend, will introduce Team PRONC as a new sporting property designed to showcase the energy, ambition and cultural influence of Nigeria to an international audience. 

Founded by a collective of Nigerian entrepreneurs and investors, including Rich Hospitality founders Cecil Hammond and Richie Shittu, along with Preye Berezi, Osahon Okunbo and Ndy Oruche, Team PRONC aims to bring the country’s renowned culture, hospitality and entrepreneurial spirit to one of the fastest-growing championships in global sport, creating a platform that celebrates the ever rising influence of African culture across sport, entertainment and innovation. 

After more than two decades building hospitality, live entertainment, private members’ clubs and cultural experiences, and as African music, sport, fashion and entertainment continue to shape global culture, the founders aim to bring that same ambition, energy and excellence to the world of motorsport through PRONC. 

Joining a championship already backed by some of the world’s most recognisable athletes, entertainers and entrepreneurs, from LeBron James and Tom Brady to Rafa Nadal and Will Smith, PRONC enters E1 with a vision that extends beyond competition, working across sport, entertainment and community initiatives to create opportunities, amplify emerging talent and inspire the next generation of innovators  and athletes to see themselves represented on the global sporting stage. 

The UIM E1 World Championship presented by PIF brings together global sport, cutting-edge technology and marine conservation. The Championship races in some of the world’s most iconic coastal destinations, including Lake Como, Monaco, Lagos and Miami, combining competition with a mission to accelerate innovation and protect the waters that connect us all. E1 champions equal opportunity by requiring both male and female pilots to compete as part of every team, helping drive greater representation at the highest level of international racing.
